Anonymous, 24 Jan 2020Even 1+ does not cost 1000 dude, after 6 whole years.... 7 pro in US is 500 bucks7 pro is almost a year old. and that's not the point to what I was trying to say.

IpsDisplay, 24 Jan 2020Nah the west is too obsessed with iPhones and Samsung they don't careThey are the two long-reigning top brands of their respective platforms so duh!
A cheaper than usual Chinese smartphone brand that is focusing on a country that only buys cheap Chinese smartphones, how surprising lol.
Hope the new poco phone will retain the system recorder, do away with the notch and lightweight.

Let me break it down for you (in USD since you were using those in your figures).
Samsung's flagship Galaxy S5 in 2014 was $600.
OnePlus' flagship OPO in 2014 was $349.
This is approximately a 42% lower price when compared.
Samsung's flagship Galaxy S10+ in 2019 was $999.
OnePlus' flagship 7 Pro in 2019 was $669.
This is approximately a 33% lower price when compared.
This is an overall 9% change in price when comparing to a popular flagship. If you want to compare dollar for dollar, look at it this way:
The launch price of a 1965 Mustang was $2,368.
The launch price of a 2014 Mustang was $22,510.
The launch price of a 2019 Mustang was $26,395.
As you can see prices continually rise over time, but the product also evolves so you're comparing apples to oranges. You will never be happy with society.
MagicMonkeyBoy, 24 Jan 2020The west needs poco too. Poco is highly regarded in other markets. Just makes more sense to or... moreExactly. The F1 was a smash hit worldwide, pretty weird they're focusing only on the Indian market
What's independent.? Im guessing it will be a xiaomi and use miui.? Nothing wrong with that, but I can't see the point.
YUKI93, 24 Jan 2020$750? Ouch, that is a lot! Here in Malaysia, OnePlus 7 Pro 8/256 can be bought for $690.60 bucks less and you think thats cheap ? Or your the type who is looking the first number and think that it's only 600 even tough it's only 10 less then 700 ? Or when the price is 699.95 and cause the first number is 6 then it's 600 only ?
In that high price the 60 bucks dont matter much anymore

This is the same company that used to launch its phone at INR30,000 or $400 2 years ago.
SohailSays, 24 Jan 2020Well, in that case, noone should bat an eye to POCO. Same thing just different branding. Nah.Well, One+ phones are usually a rebrand of OPPO, but with a close-to-stock skin, and people still go for them.
What POCO need is to offer a different UI and UX, not same MIUI.
Andrew Thompson, 24 Jan 2020Yeah like 85% people don't even know brands like Xiaomi and Realme exist...Heck I was talking ... more*know* damn autocorrect

P650SE, 24 Jan 2020Well I was excited for this, but out of the two Poco phones that have been leaked so far, one ... more100% agree, full screen or nothing!
Anonymous, 24 Jan 2020It will be.Well, in that case, noone should bat an eye to POCO. Same thing just different branding. Nah.
Poco should bring it with Samsung's super AMOLED screen(Not BOE crap), 6000mah battery, 7 series processor and stock OS and you've got a winner. If not then we should skip POCO, xiaomi and redmi altogether so that they get the message and stop overcharging
