Folding phones made sense when screens were fragile plastic, buttons were easily blocked with pocket fluff, and the use of a phone was much less than it is now. "Rigid slabs" are durable these days, quick to access, and legible.
It just shows that the bar has raised so high that manufacturers are desperate for a gimmick.

I woted no.
Folding phones are NO for me and another thing Samsung UI is far worse than anything i ever had in my hands.
And finaly Samsung horrible pricing will repel every customer like a shield that deflect and reflect everything way bigger force.

You missed a possible answer. I would never buy such a phone because I do not see neither its purpose, nor it's use. This one, as well as the new RAZR are just silly ideas to me.

I've always envied the feature phones of the past. Never got to use one though as the smartphones came and I upgraded to one. So, if these new ones are durable enough and pocket friendly I'll definitely try .

So many people said it's too expensive..
I remember buying Nokia 8600 for £1000 when other devices costed half of that.
Fortunately not everything is being mass produced and yes, you need to pay premium(or be creative yourself) if you want to stand out.
Peace

Dennan4, 27 Jan 2020I'll wait for the surface duo, if nothing spectacular is announced before thatActually thats my plan as well. Maybe smth good will come by then but ive been thinking of getting the surface duo and neo for the portability and the safety since the screen wont break from folding it. Just my thoughts, but since we know microsoft very well by now, it will be $$$$$$$ when they come.

There's a missing option: No, they are not ready/robust enough yet.

My reason for not going with Z flip isn't even listed : I want a flip phone to actually have a usable second screen on the outer side. Just like the RAZR. If you have a space as well as precedent, why not utilize it? That'll actually be the better viewfinder instead of that teensy 1" thing as it currently stands.

Why is there never a this technology is useless option in the poll. I have no interest in folding phone until the technology improves functionality. This is just a normal phone with a useless fold in it.

Yes. But not with current price.
Phones have been becoming expensive without functional or form change. A smartphone in 2020 looks and acts like used to in 2010. Flip Flex phone is a slight detour from that , and I would love to try but for less money to burn.
Might be for $500-700 americans, that's a groundless hope , but still.

I have 7 laptops at home ... from 10 to 17 inch,
do you think I need a phone tablet in my pocket?
No I need a small phone and both the Samsung and the Motorola are the Candidates.
Hope Sony will make one soon too.
