Samsung should have used 16 cores because even the Kirin 1000 with its 16 cores won't be as good as the Adreno but it will be close as for Samsung they're going to be far behind.

Granted Samsung will probably be stingy with the core count.
It will still however he much closer than you think. And if they would use a better set up possibly match or surpass.
But we clearly shouldn't expect that.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2020You clearly didn't look up the gpus in questionI looked up GPU specifications and benchmarks but I admit I only looked up the Mali G76 not the G77 however the G77 is about as better than the G76 as the Adreno 650 is better than the 640 which means the huge gap will remain. Samsung should have used 16 cores like Huawei does and guess what even then the Adreno would still be better but Samsung decided to use 11 cores 1 less core than they did in their last flagship. I don't get how you can think the Mali G77 MP11 is almost as good as the Adreno 650 I mean does that mean the G77 MP16 Huawei will probably use in their Kirin 1000* is better than the Adreno 650 when it (G76 MP16) was behind the last time? The specification sheets disagree with you.

That FPS gap you speak of would exist if Samsung used 16 GPU cores and it would be tolerable if they did but Samsung is only using 11 (unlike Huawei). Also, you'll start getting frustrated with your device and replace it sooner than later that means your overall investment was pretty bad compared to what North Americans got.

Yes the GPU in SD865 is more powerful than the one in Exynos version but that is by a small margin. It's way better than any other flagship from 2019. So All games would indeed work at highest settings. Adreno GPU will churn out 5-10 fps extra compared to Mali GPU. Not much of a difference.

Because when I spend that much money on a phone I expect to be able to play the latest Android games at the maximum graphical settings on it. A phone's ability to play games well translates into other things you do with it since a phone's ability to play games depends on its overall processing power much like everything else you do with it.

M5s. 5th gen Mongoose, but 3rg gen large core.

And depending on the set-up Samsung chooses it can range from being just under the Adreno 650, matching it, or even surpassing it. Though I'm sure they won't use that big a set-up.

hopefully the Note or some other samsung high end phone will come without punch hole this year. Just for the camera I kinda consider passing the upgrade.
