Newer battery tech doesn't generate too much heat in the phone, mostly at the charger. Hence their life is not detoriating at a faster pace coz of fast charging.
See?
Plus every manufacturer slows down charging after around 80% and charges upto 100% slowly. Plus other materials and components keeping entire phone cool also plays a role.

Anonymous, 29 Jan 2020No it hasn't.
Degradation will keep happening as long as Lithium is still used.
On reddit... moreThere is a wide variety of difference in battery provided by manufacturers.
All might be lithium ion batteries but there are a number of differences in quality.
Cheap batteries will always detoriate faster.
Plenty of phones I have used (flagships) which did not degrade badly, the usual 5-10% after 4-5 years. If you use cheap phones, expect cheap batteries.

Non sealed battery also allows entry of third larty makers so people have a source of replacement for a long time.
An ancient iphone 4 is still usable as media device to this day but aside from jailbreak, you need newer batteries which Apple no longer sell. At least hole in the wall shops can do something about it.

Based on experience, A new HP laptop will lose 30~40% of its battery charge after a year of normal usage (1 charge per day)

On reddit you can find many people that say their phones has lost 5, 10 or even 20% within a year. And this using slow 5, 10 or 15W charging.
All the advance made so far is to keep battery from explosion. Not to keep from losing capacity.

You are set for 5 years before battery shows signs of slowing down. Even then reduction in battery would be by 5-10% not declining progressively.
Anonymous, 29 Jan 2020Wait for the Mi 10T Pro Premium 5G before the year ends. Lmao.I just wait for Mi 10T Pro
No one actually needs 5G and nearly nobody is able to use it ;-)
If this thing has decent 5G bands for the US, this is gonna blow everything out of the water.
The camera in good lighting is better than the iPhone 11 pro, and the specs are close to the Galaxy S10. 90hz screen is what I'm hearing. Not quite the 120hz from Samsung, but also not quite the 1000 euros either.
Might have to wait for a version with a microSD slot though. microSDs are getting so cheap that no slot is a big dealbreaker for me. We'll get affordable 1TB microSD cards before this year's new 5G phones become outdated.

But with a single cell battery it will age the battery way faster than 10W charging (I'm guessing). Laptops make use of multiple cells for example.
AND THE BATTERY WILL DIE IN 66
DAYS :))))) Good deal !!! This is a new marketing for morons: charge power.

Like everyone here I want to have a better product than I have now.
And I know newer and better will cost more.
But prices are getting out of control.
The iphone xs max 512GB for $1500.
S20 Ultra 128GB is tipped to be $1300.
Oppo Find X was $1000, not even had nfc.
Sdmanimous, 29 Jan 2020Guys, any idea how much would this cost?Few weeks ago GSMA had an article about it.Some leak said a basic Mi10 will be 500euro,Mi10 Pro about 600..
Only huawei in china brands can be trusted
Anonymous, 29 Jan 2020Mi Note 10 Pro out of China was about $600. No surprise if mi10 pro reaches $750. Well, I guess ill stay with my K30 5g for now ...
