wasox, 31 Jan 2020Wrong, what heats up is just the receiver coil, not the battery per se So what? the smartphone coil is part of the battery or placed on the battery surface so thermally the battery still suffers more than cabled charging .

Maybe it's because that... moreI don't even get why it's called wireless charging when you have to keep it on the charging pad that is connected via a wire, it's not like Wi-Fi or anything, they should call it NFC charging or something.
If the phone could charge everywhere in your house like Wi-Fi, that is real wireless, even if it charges slow, at least you can move with the phone.

Maybe it's because that I still use the phone while charging. With wireless, you had to leave it on the charging pad all the time and that could be rather annoying when calls or messages or even emails coming in.

The wear on your battery is increased when there is excess heat (usually from charging too fast), so charging SLOWER actually means better battery health in the long run (longevity).
Whackcar, 30 Jan 2020About time. Hopefully IP certification will also come in tow.I would prefer wireless charging over cost-increasing certification
