Coolstan, 03 Feb 2020Who told you that? I have been using Huawei devices for a long time and I have never had issue... moreHey all new updated devices have locked bootloaders with no way to unlock it.
Huawei isn't developer community friendly like other manufacturers who give you an option to unlock bootloader.
nani?, 31 Jan 2020but sadly Huawei does not let you unlock the BL :(Who told you that? I have been using Huawei devices for a long time and I have never had issues with unlocking the bootloader.
We would be with you Huawei, phone sector needs a second player in software arena anyway.
Crazy idea: Maybe Huawei should permanently abandon official Android
Lesson learned. Why use 3rd party software to operate your device. Huawei, learned the lesson, Samsung on other smart devices manufacturer should already b working on their own OS and even their own GPS global map, just like Apple. Create you own stuff. period.
There's 1.3 billion people in China. Unlike Nokia, Huawei have a base population that can support its own OS. The population of EU is only 500 million. The population of US is only 320 million. Huawei needs their own OS for long-term survival.
AnonD-889996, 31 Jan 2020Wrong. Maps, YouTube, GMail aren’t needed at all. What the Android phones need are Google P... morewhat? you don't need to be rooted to flash the google services you just need to have TWRP or orange fox
I hope Huaweis developer fund spurs a set of apps and services that surpass Googles, that other manufacturers take notice and jump on board, and as a result a more open distributed app store maintained by device manufacturers becomes viable. Without a need for GMS, AOSP might become the preferred version, freeing the world of one of the most egregious privacy violators. (/pie in the sky)
Huawei is top of the top today
they have develop new os so np GJ
kek, 30 Jan 2020F for Huawei. They will probably are going to start shipping their China ROM to all worldwi... moreExactly, It means the same as using Cisco Equipment. Full of back doors that cannot be patched due to be hardware related. (FBI, CIA) Cough Cough!!!
Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, and Realme needs to work together and develop their own OS and app store to secure their future. What the US did to ZTE and Huawei, can also happen to any of them as well.
The way I interpret the later statement, it makes clear that Huawei wants its own something which is not Android, not even close to Android Open Source.
This could be a good thing or bad, who knows. Maybe Chinese will start their own spying like Americans are doing. It would've been far better had Amercian Govt. developed a little restraint on their own data collection crap.
Or maybe US already hacked everything on Earth by Quantum Computing or something, maybe I'm over imagining... :D
Anyhow, wish Huawei all the best with this. I hope this entire stuff doesn't get too ugly for us consumers, whom nobody listens anyways to.
Sure, the move makes perfect sense.
User surveillance by the Chinese government is so much easier if you control the ecosystem.
That's the reason why they blocked Google in China in the first place.

Also, Android phones don't NEED any google services at all, that includes Google Playstore & Google Services Framework & so on. They are entirely optional, and Android phones can run without them on base Google AOSP Roms. All recent Huawei phones come without any Google service whatsoever.
Next time do some research before you spread misinformation.
