Anonymous, 04 Feb 2020More like once all manufacturers have put 120hz on their phones then Apple will follow. Ironically that's what happening.

Sincerely, someone from the future.

Oh, I forgot to mention, I also own (and use daily), an iPad Pro with the high refresh rate (120hz) screen and two smartphones (iPhone and Samsung) with only 60hz screens. I don't even miss it or even have a desire to have the same screen as what I have on my iPad Pro for either device.

These companies always have to have the 'next big thing' marketed. It's all a business model.
I don't care either way, I was let down by my 144 screen. I guess if push comes to shove, it does make a difference for gaming on a LARGER computer screen. BUT for a smartphone with a screen size less than 13"? That's just completely unnecessary and marketing hype at this point. If you are a human being with enough visual acuity to tell the difference, more power to you. But as for what the benefit is for an 8" or smaller screen? NOT worth it!

Just like oled TV have a certain lifespan (around 100k hours) before starting to degrade.
This lifespan is more than sufficient more most ppl.

The 120hz is good feature, when the ending subtitle of a movie across the screen it has more sharp and smoother compared to 60hz (in theory) because 60hz will be blur and jittery. You can try on a TV, play the ending of one movie, you can compare the ending subtitle roll out.. 60hz and 120hz.
