AnonD-908380, 02 Feb 2020Seeing that I have a 144Hz monitor, I don't need to "experience" it with a touch screen. That ... morePixel response time is lowest on ROG 2 and other premium 120hz displays.
So touch experience is indeed enhanced. Someone using budget phone won't understand this. How about you use ROG 2 for a week and then come back and tell me, you still think 60hz is great.

10-15% battery drain isn't much especially when coupled with fast charging in 2020. So a non issue really. All kinds of adaptive refresh rate modes already baked into the OS.

No one saying 120hz phones are innovation in terms of hardware.
But the user experience is enhanced to a different level.
A level that you cannot experience on non touch screen high refresh rate displays.

As for battery, it does obviously consume more. If it is adaptive, it's fine. But please stop acting like this is an insane invention or innovation. OLED still suffers from burn-in and batteries degrade quickly...

Which phone do you use currently?
And Which Samsung phone did you switch from?

Once you go to 120hz display, there is no going back.
Switching back to Using a 60hz display gives you an inferior user experience compared to 120hz

Physically you feel the touch response while doing everything since most of the navigation on smartphone is through touch.
Not so much on a non touch screen PC.

How about you use a 120hz display as daily driver and then come back and talk to me.

You are throwing a hissy fit over less than 15% battery loss (that too if you choose to use it @120hz)
Stop acting like 120hz is draining your battery by 50%.

Does 120Hz screens enable your device to last a week without charging? Does it allow your device to teleport you? Does it allow high performance computing? A new form factor? No. It's simply a cosmetic improvement, aka unnecessary. And not a good one like accurate AMOLEDs with ultra wide colour gamut or high DPI displays.

Just admit it. It's only hype because they're running out of actual innovations.

Oh, you do notice it, even when moving the mouse. It's unneccessary on a phone if they use it as the main selling point. They should work on better battery technology before mainstreaming this.
