If you want to show off, is ok. If you want a phone, this thing is OVERPRICED. i would'nt pay more then 500$. After all, is just the display who deserve atention, the rest You can find in a phone that costs 200$(Mi9 Lite)

While the Razr and Z Flip are foldable just for the sake of being foldable.

I'll wait for updated second gen RAZR. I love this phone, but Motorola should work on giving better spec. If they still want to make this a premium mid-range device, they should make it way cheaper than Samsung.

for $1500 I'd rather buy a galaxy fold 2 with actual flagship specs and an actually good camera, and that's if i even WOULD consider spending this much for a phone in the first place

At $700, even with the risk for bubbles and harsh damage to the display, this thing will fly off the shelves but as usual, greed always win over logic.
$700 off means it's starting to get somewhat reasonable... Though Motorola still relied too much on having a monopoly in the only logical foldable smartphones (I don't consider the foldable tablets like galaxy fold reasonable ), but with Galaxy Z Flip on its way with SD855+ instead of SD710, Motorola will have a hard time justifying this price tag.

700$ is actually a solid price for this device, since the main appeal of it is the Folding mechanism
