Botox, 02 Feb 2020I don't think anyone can compete with the I was about to say I don't think anyone can compete with the Chinese brands. They are investing heavily and are absolutely dominating entire markets. It is apparent they rule the 5G and no other high tech company is able to catch up. I am not surprised Nokia is offering outdated phones. The steep prices seem to be a problem. The EU and US companies failed with the network competition.

Nokia 7.2 and 6.2 came with ancient SD660 and SD636 respectively, so there's virtually no hope for the 5.2... Though it would be interesting if they decided to make it a complete bomb to blow away the competition, like putting some SD710 or SD712 in it, but it's just not going to happen, they'll stick some mediocre mediatek in it and it will fall into oblivion like most of their recent phones.

These nokia have made them very ugly! At one time what beautiful, aluminum, metallic and each with its own gloss and style! And now the same ugly, impersonal, as if Chinese replicas, without any style or beauty, without any design idea! In a word Awesome job !!!!

It would always have been a tough job for Nokia to create a name for itself considering how late it was to join the android party and these mediocre phones they keep dishing out surely don't help its cause either.

Why HMD/Nokia is so much obsessed with that stupid and ugly water drop notch in middle on all their phones launched since last year, except Nokia 9? Can't they add simple thin bezel on top?

Lol at that big chin with Nokia branding.
Hideous circular bump at the back. HMD trying to copy Motorola but failed big time.

The two dumbest things Nokia does to its otherwise decent smartphone offerings are:
1. Stubbornly giving them 3000mAh+ batteries only when the rest of the mobile world has moved on to 4000mAh+ and bigger capacity batteries and
2. Nokia's stubborn overpricing, still thinking the brand name 'Nokia' will warrant a higher price than other phone brands offering similar features and specs.

Unless Nokia's stubborn designers and sales teams sort through these two major turn offs, Nokia will remain a forgotten brand that was once the greatest phone manufacturer in the past.

Incidentally, Sony has the same dumb strategy as Nokia. Make phones cost more for the specs by relying on its brand name, and stubbornly sticking to 3000mAh+ capacity batteries in its phones. Battery capacity and competitive pricing are the two biggest draws to buying a midrange phone. Remove them both and you'll languish with poor phone sales in the most important market segment - the midrange phone market that will dictate a manufacturer's flagship phone ambitions and long term success. Poor midrange phone sales = poor prospect for flagship market performance.

Ugly, tacky front facing branding. hmd and and Redmi are both doing this and should be ashamed. All companies had stopped doing that and those two have decided to bring it back.

I was kinda sad when Nokia mobile died the first time but it should've been left dead because hmd are embarrassing it's legacy.
They've only released one good phone. The 7 Plus
