This is the end of their partnership. But since BlackBerry has gone their own way now, perhaps that BlackBerry might gone back to smartphone world after this? I so miss BB10, so much better than Android.

Too bad, the Blackberry Passport is one my all time favorite smartphone. Until now, I can't find any smartphone better for web browsing. The keyboard gestures + shortcuts functionalities were just amazing and made web browsing so much faster and a better experience overall. They couldn't do the same with their android devices, and this was a big con for me.

Blackberry of old could have maintained a presence as a corporate device specialist if they focused on the O.S, core hardware and got the price right, same for windows phone but that didn't seem to be the strategy either company wanted to take

All it takes is a severe scandal on discovered misuse or leakage of all the personal data they are stealing erhm 'collecting', and a little legislation on decent privacy following that will have their whole business model fall down as a house of cards... And this will make room for new players...

And if other oems like hiaomi, oppo, vivo and their sub brands leave android and build their own os than google will suffer big time imo.
Some things are changing so fast. I was a big sony ericsson fan for life, now huawei is my first choice, but after the ban i dont thing i will buy another huawei phone.

Developer support is what kills those other guys chances. Developers did not want to develop and support more than two phone os. Apple have/enjoy the most developer loyalty when it comes to software development. A big part of course have to do with the spending a large portion of their users spend. The developers will always migrate to where the money is and right now that's Apple and I don't see that change anytime soon.

Huawei was the last choice for many consumers. Look at them now. No. 2
I see to many ignorant fellas enjoing the failure of others and at the same time prasing their beloved oem like a god.
Nothing Lasts forever, and there is always the possibility for apple, samsung, google, facebook, yt and many more to reach the end days.
