And still no real benchmark test of both snapdragon 865 and Exyons 990!.
I don't think this phone will be Samsung greatest. Let alone be the best.
GnuLinux, 05 Feb 2020Please Apple, Samsung, Huawei.... nobody asked for million cameras on a phone. Give as 3 days ... morethat's right we buy a phone, not prof camera for Hollywood movie

They removed the power button and left the "Bixby" one. Not the other way.
Cameras will seem awesome, this time most markets get the Snapdragon variant instead of the obsolette Exynos one.
I have tried the Mi Note 10 and the camera is sharp as promised. I just hope the S20 can step up from the Mi Note 10's image processing (both phones use the same main snapper).
But I don't think I'll buy the S20 as I've commented in other places. I had a S10e but that'll be the last time I have a Samsung device.
First, it's too expensive for an Android device. iPhone is also expensive, but if it was never involved in the US-China trade war, it can be $120-150 cheaper at most. I hope coronavirus outbreak will encourage Foxconn to shift production to other factories outside China, and maybe increase capacity. Samsung flagships also lose a lot of value over time, way more than an Apple device.
Second is the 2 year update policy, some Chinese OEMs already does 3, Apple does 5 as usual. It encourages you to swap handsets more often. The ideal lifespan of a phone is 3 years, not 2.
You think Apple devices are difficult to repair, that's true, because the back panel is non-removable and expensive to replace. Make no mistake, I had a Samsung Note FE with only a minor crack in the front screen, but display panel is intact. Brought it to an official Samsung service center. The whole front panel was replaced, including the battery. It costed quite dear (about USD $170 equivalent). That time the Note 9 was already around.
Not trying to troll potential buyers, but think carefully before you buy the S20, because price has been rumoured to increase again. Since the S9 buyers have been reluctant to buy a flagship Samsung phone and deals/discounts are quite aggressive.
This phone should appeal to mobile photographers anyway, we'll see the outcome.

100X text looks out of place. the camera bump looks like mate 20 pro + p30 pro combined.
I could be wrong, but I believe the Corephotronics acquisition could have helped create a more compelling zoom, than just a lousy mix of good zoom and overdone digital. Maybe something in the lines of the Google Pixel's 2x zoom, without a 2x lens. Or maybe zooming via a higher MP sensor, probably sacrificing some dynamic range or HDR for actual zoom.
How to make the black camera square even uglier : Write 100x beneath it...

It's called high performance SoC. not high efficiency. If you want efficiency then you should go for qualcomm 675 or 720 SoC.
You can't really expect great battery life from a device which has QHD+ display and a High end SoC.
Pajson89, 05 Feb 2020go back to 2015not everyone thinking that way, bro
AnonD-754814, 05 Feb 2020You are complaining like Samsung makes only S series phone. Get outta here man.Not only Samsung but all of them. I don't care about cameras much. Ok show me a device with Snapdragon 865 5G, no notch amoled display, hi fi audio, good battery life and I'll buy it right away.
AnonD-754814, 05 Feb 2020Then wait for the Motorola 5G. Moto has great battery life record.Yes for sure. I will wait for LG, Sony, Motorola and see what they'll bring to the table.

Camera bump is there since beginning of the last decade or may be older than that, I just don't know about it.
Ex : Lumia 1020
The rectangular camera is the best option when one need to fit 4 or more camera at the back. Though there is another better solution. Which is actually the same from inside but will look different from outside.

For 4 cameras they could have approached like the given design. Kinda like Note 10+. Which should look better to the eyes.
But for 5 cameras S20 ultra design is the only option.

Now 100x zoom. It would be okay if it was just a marketing strategy because this is the trend in Smartphone industry which was started by Huawei and Huawei isn't a brand which should be followed at least not by Samsung.
Embarrassing !
