How do I buy it
AJ_74, 07 Feb 2020I love how the RAM options are "bare minimum" or "purely for bragging rights". Like, seriously... moreSmartphone companies are fresh out of ideas so they're desperately playing the lame-ass numbers game these days. Year after year it's just one boring incremental update after another. It's gotten so boring that companies like Xiaomi and others are releasing the same smartphones under different names in a sad attempt to fool ignorant customers.
The only real thing that truly matters is battery tech, but I guess OEMs are more busy with things like "gaming smartphones" and stuffing as many cameras on the back of their devices as possible lol.
So what? This is the company that has promised pro video, and 8kp30 fir a long time, but where have they delivered? The filesystem upgrade will help, but if this gets true 8k first, then tell red magic 3 purchasers about it! Who have long suffered their 8k stutter vision, when they where to get smooth 8k.
No headphone with cancer notch. K bye
Nick.B, 06 Feb 2020Aw, same poor camera setup in premium high end device. Why?! Looks like Chinese Market main aim.It would have been better to put a motorized camera and drop the cheap selfie cam, abolishing the ugly notch. Perfect is a 16:9 flat display with sharp edges so that all pixels can be seen: Good for watching videos, and still good enough for reading ebooks.
Love the Community, 06 Feb 2020Aw, no headphone jack. That's okay. Just buy the Drop x THX Panda wireless headphones and you'... moreNo jack no buy! A BT headset has a battery and needs to be charged. BT is a shared medium: easy to eavesdrop and not reliable. The 3.5mm jack is more sturdy and durable than the micro USB jacks.
I love how the RAM options are "bare minimum" or "purely for bragging rights". Like, seriously.
There is no real-world usage scenario... I repeat... THERE IS NO REAL-WORLD USAGE SCENARIO in which a smartphone can exceed 10GB of RAM usage. Period. In fact, other than in the professional sector, it's extremely rare for even a desktop PC to exceed 10GB of RAM usage.
When are we going to make a return to sanity in the smartphone market? Phones are now a literal mish-mash of gimmicks and marketing fluff. Hyper elongated aspect ratios, curved displays, sextuple camera arrays, punch-holes, in-screen fingerprint sensors... on and on and on. The only meaningful improvement to the modern smartphone is the high refresh rate display, and even that is getting out of hand with battery guzzling 120Hz. Can we just stop at 120Hz? Nooo... later this year we will have 144Hz displays on phones (because it's higher than 120Hz and matches the standard for PC gaming displays). So now all of the gains we've made with battery size and fast-charging tech are out the window as smartphone companies race to have the highest refresh rate in the slimmest phone.
Does anyone want to start a smartphone company with me?
460 dollar is super cheap for these specs.
As a heads up GSMArena, this is LITERALLY the Axon 10 from last year but with the SnapDragon 865, new UI, and WiFi 6 support. It's not any more different which means same battery, same 1080p AMOLED panel, same speakers, wireless charging, and same exact camera lens.
Hence why, despite the solid price, I'm skipping it. They need a 'true' sequel to the Axon 7 with those speakers, headphone jack, bigger battery, and 2K AMOLED panel.
The lack of 8 GB of RAM and the camera setup is a let down
Whackcar, 06 Feb 2020All the phones you've mentioned cost twice as much as this phone. You're just finding dubious ... moreThis price, my friend, is for China market ONLY. Price for outside China will be 200$ about this one. And trust me, this is very close to competitors. Also my mate20pro I got is 250$ 2nd hand, with warranty. Waiting for new amoled screen from huawei service center, and new battery. Why should I buy this axon for 600 usd ? They must ask themselves the same thing if they wanna sale good outside China.
yet again, only 4000mAh power is factor for me to not buy this device. 5000+ I want in any phone. Or make them great again (removable).
Dizzee, 06 Feb 2020Samsung are losing their market share. Yes they were/are still the top brand, but it is a dimi... moreHow many years have you said that? The market shrunk in 2019. Samsung sales grew. How is that losing?
Considering their "support" and updates policy,
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
AnonD-762416, 06 Feb 2020Samsung is the biggest selling brand in the world. Been so for a decade and been so by a whopp... moreSamsung are losing their market share. Yes they were/are still the top brand, but it is a diminishing market as more people realise what little benefit there is limiting themselves to that brand.
Anonymous, 06 Feb 2020Better than mi10, also cheaper.
Probably has IP68 and stereo speakers like axon 10.
Cheaper?Hardly..Better?In what way?
Surely with Mi10(Pro) you'll get (way) better OS,cameras and bigger battery.. won't even mention support and updates...Xiaomi isn't brilliant with updates but at least they're making devices for global use..I like Axons, from 7 upwards but clearly they're not made for serious sales globally, unlike Xiaomi...that Axon 7 was brilliant, superb audio output thanx to excellent Asahi Kasei audio chips inside, been using one as a dig.music source in my Hifi system,Yamaha As500 amp plus AKG K 550 headphones, both absolutely fantastic..but OS was just horrible, camera from a $100 phone..good Samsung's 2K Amoled display though..
Yee, 06 Feb 2020Lol! Capitalism in a nutshell: Samsung produced a curved screen, hyped it and sold in million... moreSamsung is the biggest selling brand in the world. Been so for a decade and been so by a whopping margin of almost 100 million devices a year. The only place curved screen are unpopular is in your imagination.
Nick.B, 06 Feb 2020I have 2nd hand huawei mate20pro. 2018 model fyi. It will do circles around axon 10s's camera ... moreAll the phones you've mentioned cost twice as much as this phone. You're just finding dubious reasons to hate this phone.
For the price, this phone is excellent. Not my cup of tea, but I appreciate anything that deserves praise, irregardless of my personal preference.
Lol! Capitalism in a nutshell:
Samsung produced a curved screen, hyped it and sold in millions.
Now when they received a tons of negative feedback from its users the company going back to a flat screen while selling curved panels to other OEMs for their to be used in their latest/ best.
Brilliant business move by Samsung.
