Toby2020, 10 Feb 2020You can connect a wired earphone with usb-c connection. No one is forcing you to use wireless.when 3.5mm jack worked fine in the last 10 generations. why made such a change and cause trouble to serious earphone users.
Samsung had insisted to keep a extended memory card slot (or a sim tray) because of users actual need. why not the 3.5MM jack too.
I do not see the earphone/ headphone jack on audio equipment will be removed in the next 20 years. the quality of wireless connection could not compare with the wired ones.
Samsung is forcing users to consider some other brands. the LG should be the last option. i would be curious to know whether the sales of the S20 is greatly different this time.
Anonymous, 14 Feb 2020which will be copied by xperia soonA bezel still better than a punchhole/notch, you can rest your thumb on the bezel, but the punchole/notch has eat up the space so you can only grip on it side frame, that's insane when you always grip like this.
Senseurheart Kimochi, 13 Feb 2020It isn't a w"hole" things, but definitely a punchole there. which will be copied by xperia soon

I had s2 and s3 and then bought note 4. I'm female with rather small hands so note 4 is sliiiightly above my range. I keep it even now and dread the sad time when it dies and I must replace it with a new extra large mobile.
Anonymous, 11 Feb 2020So you never used touchwiz devices or devices of the equivalent time frames. It worked perfect... moreNo, in fact I have used 3 Samsung phone prior to them shifting to OneUI. Touchwiz may be feature rich, but user experience is awful due to the extremely bad memory management (even MIUI is ahead in this aspect at that point of time). Touchwiz barely survived on their flagship devices, anything without flagship CPU will be worse off.
Most users would agree to have a stock phone and then install whatever they need than something like Touchwiz, which is why OneUI is way superior than Touchwiz.

And that's why Android now uses many touchwiz features

The Galaxy S6 Edge in its day was awesome! So light and thin but quite capable. I thought it was the future, but alas no. After that, if you wanted a flagship but didn't like thick, heavy, oversized phones then there were damn few choices in the Samsung lineup until the S10e came along. Curiously, Apple phones got way bulkier at the same moment, starting with the 6s (which was nevertheless far superior to the 6). Sammy almost kept the trend going with the high-midrange (sort of) Alpha but they blew it in the end. But today all is well.

All this does is highlight how stupidly oversized phones have now become. As for Samsung's version of Android, the less said the better (which is a pity because TouchWiz and OneUI could really have done with being "less").
Toby2020, 10 Feb 2020You can connect a wired earphone with usb-c connection. No one is forcing you to use wireless. It would not be a problem if the phones without a jack sported a 10000 mah battery. But they don't. And they need to be charged. But there's only 1 (one) port for 2 (two) cables.
I understand that not everybody runs into this problem, and a lot of people have already succumbed to the wireless, but it's an infuriating issue. Even a wireless powerbank doesn't solve it. I've dropped apple because of that and will not buy a phone without a jack in the future.
Also I've seen disassembled phones without a jack, and there's always free room for a jack.
Also once upon a time there was a phone with a jack, a microsd slot, a swappable battery AND it was ip67. Manufacturers are just being lazy today.
Also we've seen this in mid-00's, when every manufacturer put a propietary port without a jack on phones, and you had to use crappy proprietary headhones or buy a dongle. This is the reason we have usb today, and a jack until yesteryear. This is regress back into the stone age.
Also if you assume removing useful features is the future, you are doing something very wrong with your life.
