There is is no need for Huawei to do this, there is Aptoide and similar to take care of this.

Get me a bootloader unlocked Mate 30 pro and I'll start a blog about simple how-to's for general public but please Huawei, don't commit a PR suicide.

This trade war is a big reason. Then they can do like OnePlus and greatly simplify the process so it's easier and less scary to install a custom rom. Then the community will take care of the rest. Bloat is probably the worst solution.
