So, looks like the long term software update is up to no good either.

So Apple is no different from Huawei in terms of faking benchmark, deception, misdirection! All it matters is quarterly earnings, nothing else matters!

Android slow? Throw it to keep buying new ones, or wipe all your preious data.

Why buy a phone and to be told to wipe it every 1 or 2 years? I rather stick with a old phone, keep all my data, and have a chance to upgrade after 5 years. No hassle.

Your phone is slow after an update because the OS is always faster when it is installed fresh rather than upgraded from one that has a lot of junk installed in it.

[deleted post]That's not evil considering Samsung's effort. Consider its slow OS and Exynos chipsets. All phones age and they become slower, it's not just iPhone, please change your mindset.

I sold my Samsung Note FE Exynos months ago. Note FE is a refurbished Note 7 with S7 chipset and S8 battery. It's very, very slow. OS is laggy with noticeable lag for no reason. It also heats up a lot in demanding games even at low settings (ex. PUBG Mobile at low graphics high framerate). iPhone 6s can even run medium settings at least, with the same framerate, with less heating and frame drops. Opening apps are still quicker than my (more expensive) Note FE.

Don't think that iPhone is mean, if Samsung, which used to be its rival, does a lot worse. Especially with its only 2 year software update policy.

Shame to see Apple fans defending throttlegate elsewhere.

Also a shame the media does not pickup the shenanigans done by Apple on their authorized repair centers as covered by Rossman.

As soon as I replaced my wife’s iPhone 7 battery with a quality OEM replacement it worked fine for about a week, and then the time of use on a full charge halved. The system shows that the battery is at 100% health and the phone is performing at maximum speed. Apple is doing some shady s-hit to our phones, greedy bastards. Unfortunately the competition is just as shady and greedy, so between the two evils we are costing the lesser one.

It's good to have government bodies who are willing to look out for the consumers.
