But th... moreBut since vast majority of people already like to put a case with bezel highter by at least 1mm to protect from fall their screen, even with 0.3mm higher bezel on the case (that would add up to 0.6mm, far enough for vast majority of dust) it wouldn't mind enough people to be sold.
Ugly is subjective. And it's very often more about habit than taste. For example, I really find ugly all those "waterfall" and "edge" screen, but hell, manufacturers still continue to produce it.

Anyway enough debate. What my point is A manufacturer can charge as much as the want as long as the profit margin isn't more than 66.666% .
You see smartphones price as a scale type. The top tier shouldn't exceed 1000$.
My opinion is just different.
Manufacturers can offer smartphone as much pricey as possible if there is a market for that. As long as they offer something on my budget, it's okay and It doesn't have to be their best flagship.
What I keep in mind is,
Am I getting for what I am paying ?

The N95 didn't even come to my mind. I remember the N97 we bought for 700 I think. Those had alot more to offer than todays smartphones though. You have to admit that no flagship is even near worth 1k though, especially with regards to lackluster software updates and anti-repair design.

The Nokia N95 launched in 2006 was priced 700$ and the successor N95 8GB was priced at 800$(without tax) and I had this model , it felt generation ahead of other smartphone at that time. That time 8gb felt unlimited storage for me.
The Original galaxy S was launched at 600$. S2 at 700 for base model, higher capacity at 800$
So, where did you get the 300 euro price tag ?
Are you bluffing to prove that the price is too high currently?

If the design and building structure were the same as ... moreI get the pricing for prototypes but regular flagships (not only Samsung) are incredibly overpriced. I remember some sick Nokia phones back in the day cost 150 euros max. Then came the touch screen phones for 200 euros. After that, top of the line Samsung S-models cost around 300 euros. They jacked up the price sealed their phones more and more to make repairs impossible. If they had a removable back, actual glass and a minimum of 4 years of software support, I would be all over the folding idea. Samsung depreciates so fast nowadays it doesn't make sense to invest alot either. I bought 150 bucks worth of tools to swap a battery, which is often difficult to source and takes often up to 2 hours aswell...

vivo, 10 Feb 2020plain ugly design... at least Motorola did their homework and made a good looking foldable phone Yeah, the Razr is definetly better at being weaker than the Z Flip since it already has many problems, and it is not only happening to reviewers. In fact, is even weaker than the current Galaxy Fold.

Many of us are tired with the same slabs. Are phones supposed to look like slabs forever and ever? That's why seeing the clamshell design is great. I miss the 2000s when flip phones were at its peak before disappearing completely in the 2010s

Cool. Many of us did start out with the flip phone era. Good to see it get return again.
The new Razr looks better than this but the weaker specs and higher price is what kills it.

But the phone will look ugly then. There is no logic to make a phone ugly which has promised to be beautiful and eye-catching.

AnonD-754814, 10 Feb 2020As a Engineer you should know, dust is more dangerous if the screen folded completely flat bec... moreI never said the top part of the screen should touch the bottom part, plus it would be near to impossible to do that due to the minimal radius for folding the screen.
You can close the gap without having the screen touching. Just extend the frame body.
And I sure hope they didn't make the top screen bezel touch the bottom screen bezel, best way to have scratches in this part. But if it's only the frame body that touch, like a shell, it will be durable.
