So, their extra 40 million "sales" in the global figures actually comes entirely from China?

potato4k, 11 Feb 2020Samsung already shut down their factory in China last year. They just cannot compete. They shut it down as its the only way to avoid the Chinese copy laws. The laws that allows Chinese brands to cherry pick any design a foreign manufacturer uses.

Good to see the data, but it's not unexpected. Growth is declining as those who want a smartphone already bought one, thus the numbers will normalize to simply be upgraders.

Anonymous, 11 Feb 2020And Apple dont? Since their sales in united state is still strong..Com'on man, have some sense. Don't be an ldiot!
I'm talking about 30% increase yoy (100-140 million), when has Apple experienced that growth after becoming big?
It's not normal for a company to grow that much unless a big competitor lost big due to a scandal or something.

For a company that sells hundreds of millions of phones, 30% increase, that's definitely not normal.

So now all these Chinese smartphones OEM's will dump their unsold trash in India. GOI should impose heavy import, custom duty and other taxes to inflate their prices.

This is a conspiracy. Most likely this virus was released either to affect most electronic companies or it's a side effect of another target of the responsible country/person.
