I live in the US and my whole family uses Xiaomi devices. The issue with Huawei is that they sold 5G technology to iran while Iran in defiance of international sanctions. personally, I feel that the whole situation is Bogus. But as a custom rom fan who is highly disappointed by Huawei's decisions to no longer allow bootloader unlocking, I have no love for Huawei and Xiaomi, cares a lot more about its fans than Huawei does.

Huawei was banned because of their telecommunication network, obviously US doesn't want to acknowledge Huawei is ahead in 5G technologies. Banning of Huawei phones from Google services is a ripple effect from the blanket ban on Huawei as a whole.

If the zoom is a 20MP, then it won't be as powerful as the Samsung S20 zoom, which is 48MP. But it is also not a periscope, which I consider a benefit.

And you are missing the point that Xiaomi is not closely tied to the Chinese military, while Huawei is, and Xiaomi is not providing the kind of sensitive equipment which Huawei is. BTW, Apple doesn't provide such equipment either, so I don't know why you and your kind keep bringing up Apple.

But you already know that, right -- you are just tasked to amp up the confusion?

As far as gservices go, its only Huawei that's banned from using them, not the rest.
