2) 1.000.000:1 contrast makes it looks "nicer", does not mean accuracy.
3) oled used 2x the energy of LCD when white image is displayed, like websites.

DrakeX, 17 Feb 2020IPS isn't bad, it's just that OLED is always better. They have infinite contrast ratio, better... moreYou done know any better...

    High refresh rates
    Burn in
    Whites and Grays
Lower sharpness (especially modern non RGB OLED)
    Internal oxidation
In consistent ageing of different pixels (especially blue ones)
    Pwm flickering
    Black crush
    Color Volume

Biggest downfall is... Room for growth oled is mature and is at a dead end

Oled isnt more energy efficient it has better efficiency at lower brightness, LCD mops the floor with oled at higher brightness,

Its ironic that you post this here on an IGZO LCD screen phone that is king of energy efficiency

Most people hate the look of the notch for selfie cameras so whos' bright idea was it to put another (even more hideous) notch at the bottom? Other than that this looks like a pretty solid phone

Anonymous, 17 Feb 2020Yeah. It is the company that created the design Xiaomi copied to created Mi Mix. Yes, Sharp ... moreTo be honest, the Mi Mix series aren't my most favourite series by Xiaomi but they are one of company's biggest hit. It's true that Sharp created such device with same conseption but it was an unstable useless prototype that after several months or even weeks of usage just get broken (similar to the first foldable phones now). Mi Mix was the first really fine (or at least acceptable) working phone from this kind, with good specs & price and worldwide distribution - this was the real innovation. To invent doesn't mean just to create. To invent means to create something stable, useful, practical, accessible with affordable reasonable price & specs and wide availability. That Xiaomi do best - that's why I love their products so much. Just like Tomas Edison's case - he doesn't really crafted the first lightbulb because before his innovation there were several prototypes of lightbulbs but they all had been working only for few hours and didn't make sense to use them. He created the first really usable lightbulb with long lifespan, affordable price and easy massive production - that's why we remember him, not the guys before him.
I hope I have explained it well enough ;-)

Sharp has never disappointed, and as far as I'm concerned, this isn't disappointing either.

Yes you could say the design lacks inspiration & originality, but the same can be said about the majority of phones coming out of late. At least the front looks unique (whether you can deal with dual-notch design is upto you). Specs are pretty solid. Sharp displays are pretty good, and their phones also give good battery timing. Cameras were not that great, but i assume that has improved by now.

Overall, i like it. I'm glad to see Sharp continue to launch new phones.

Very excited to see capacitive fingerprint scanner is coming back. To me it's the best way to lock and unlock your phone . Not only it's very fast but you can also take advantages in navigating.

Dometalican, 17 Feb 2020I would've honestly preferred they increased the top bezel for the selfie camera so they don't... moreUsually you can do that by yourself in the phone settings, so it seems like there is no notch and a little bit bigger bezel

It's astonishing how much weight spec sheet has and I find it baffling that just because something has few shared pieces people assume it's the damn same thing. Absolutely the best example of how people are obsessed with numbers on a paper is the horrible quality of screens that the majority of phones now come with, especially low to mid ones with OLED. Such junk graces almost all low/mid Huaweis, Xiaomis, Samsungs and whatever yet no one cares as long as it says AMOLED on the spec sheet instead of IPS cause IPS is bad because.. no one knows why but it's bad.
