The predecesor of this was just a maybe 10% weaker.
There is likely nothing to see.

abc_to_xyz, 19 Feb 2020Kirin 990 says hi!Kirin 990 is worthless now at high end segment, its about the same as 980. Only Kirin 990 is able to step foot in the top market segment, however it still losses to snapdragon 865.
The king is A13 bionic although without 5G. Good connectivity with not decent processing power is meaningless. And also the price of new huawei phones and xiaomi. Xiaomi has successfully became Huawei and redmi as honor, while Huawei is on the way to becoming Sony/Apple we'll see about that.

To make it worse they dropped the dual aperture eliminating some of the improved light intake they gained.
The 1100usd note10 plus has base 256gb storage.
They even downgraded the ultra wide to 12mp.

sanshiro, 18 Feb 2020Next years' flagships will have one target only ; to kill our wallets. We got a good taste of... moreBetter buy phones old flagship on good deals and you won't notice any performance drop but you will save ton of cash. Buying current generation smartphone for 1000 usd even 800 usd is way more expensive.
I will never spend more than 400 usd on a smartphone and I always manage to get a flagship phone few months or a year old and it's fantastic, and in no way I feel Ohh! there should be something less in my smartphone.
The thing is these all of the phone is filled with gimmicks in order to charge you more and the thing which you would need in a smart phone are already available in even a 2 years old smartphone.
Just because of 5g they increase the price substantially which you are not gonna use for another one or two years.

I'll wait for Nokia, One Plus, LG, Pixel and maybe Sony to see if they will offer better cameras at A BETTER PRICE !
I am sure they saw that people complained about the S20 series and the price. If those smaller companies give their flagships high prices then I wish them good luck.
Of course the people will prefer Samsung over these guys, if they have to pay the same money.
And Sony is playing with the devil, asking for 1,000 for sub par performance.
Companies are spoiled but people woke up in 2020.

                              There is just no S20e...
If I had to buy one from S10 series, I would have bought the S10, not S10e since it has 1080p display and dual camera, now I would buy the S20 since it's 1440p and triple camera, you wanted them to make a S20e with 1080p display again?

Comparing both, tell me where this is a bad deal:
                              https://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=10081&idPhone2=9536

Except the removed headphone jack and inferior aperture on main camera for low light, I don't see anything wrong.

The cost is much faster overheating as 4G and 5G radios generates a lot of heat while under load.
