Why? You want to start taking billboard sized photo's? Cause thats basicly the only use for a 108mp camera. Even if you are in that business, you will never take those kind of photo's with a phone. So a 108mp camera on a phone is very, very redundant. It's about as useless as a sieve is for holding water.
Instead of measuring d*cks with MP in camera's or memory pretty much no-one will ever use, phone companies should instead focus on quality of the lenses, software that processes and edits the pictures and overall image quality.
It's always things like this that 'smaller' phone companies and even some bigger ones brag about. All while basically keeping the same concept/phones for years, just because they have an annual schedule to make money.

Microinfluencer, 20 Feb 2020Hello? Instagram is offended!Why? Instagram is mostly viewed on small phone screens, on wich you will never see the difference of a 108mp camera. What more MP basicly does is make the photo bigger (And still remain sharp), but since a couple of MP is already more than enough to fill most large screens, you will never use a 108mp camera, more MP doesn't mean a picture is better quality. Only proffesional photographers (And no, that doesn't count Instagrammers or other 'influencers') use that kind of tech, and they already have high quality camera's with much better picture quality.
For phones they should try and focus on stuff like low light image quality, quality of the lenses, sound quality for video's etc...etc. That's actually stuff most people use.

Unless Samsung starts to sell its own 108 MP sensor from the S20 Ultra which for me is impossible though.
