Anonymous, 20 Feb 2020I remember to read comments on reddit that people had to ask Samsung for a new unit because th... moreBurn in within the first week? They must have set the phone to full brightness, the screen to never turn off, and never used the phone because it displays the same thing for an entire week. Do you know how ludicrous that sounds? Don't believe everything you read on the Internet.
Furiounx, 20 Feb 2020Unpopular opinion: Amoled displays are just simply awful. Fight me.It's awful why, did used or use many? you already noticed the foolishness you are saying?
You didn't notice the evolution in the past 4 years in Amoled technology with Quatum dots, you are few smart or clever for get that. Since the the Galaxy Note 7 which had a lot of problems but since then after with Galaxy S8, S8+ the things got better for Samsung and for Quatum technology. I don't know what you are claiming about. The Amoled technology of today is much better than in 2016 with Note 7 or with Galay S8, S8+ in 2017, since then evolved very much. Today you don't have pinks or yellows or grays or even blues seeming greenish on these displays.
S20 "Mini must be better. Have more pix 😆😆

XDA and even Samsung's own Forum were plagued by user reports regarding burn-in. The good thing that Samsung did was to replace the burned-in screens for free while under warranty. After warranty, screen replacement costs a lot if you have a Note Series.

I even use IPS (LG) instead of PLS (Samsung) because IPS is much more common and is known by most of the people here. My point is not even which own what technology. IDK how good you are at reading comprehension but I'd say this: Your assumptions were yours, not mine. For whatever leads you to where your arguments are right now, it's your own biases.

Its no secret anymore. Most of lucky people can maintain it on a long term usage, well, depends on the user itself (brightness level, static image for a long period of time).

Something used in Japan since last decade.
Sony calls it as Triluminos.
This type of "color accuracy" measurements is when the phone is brand new. I'd say that this measurements would significantly fall-off after a year of smartphone usage. AMOLEDs would never be able to retain the same full-panel color accuracy after a significant amount of time of usage. Even Sony's new PRO reference monitor now uses dual-layer LCD display with model number BVM-HX310, a significant change from their predominantly OLED top of the line pro reference monitors.

They're the ones that develop both and they're the ones that has the best knowledge of each of the negatives of those tech. For Samsung, AMOLED is a disposable product because it's organic, so they develop it mainly for smartphones (small displays) that has very low lifespan with users that does not care if color accuracy fades over-time while TVs can last for up to 10 years and the premium ones needs color accuracy as much as possible for that span of time so IPS LCD is the best for this case given that most consumers doesn't have a clue that an OLED panel needs to taken with utmost care all of the time for the degradation to be not obvious as much as possible, IPS + quantum dot layer is still the best for a product that aims to last.
