What 16:9 stills are available on main 108mp sensor of the Galaxy s20 Ultra.
Can you confirm how the non-USA 2 SIM model works? Is it possible to use
eSIM + nano-SIM + microSD
It would be fantastic if one can use 2 numbers + micro SD. Previous Samsung phones do not have eSim so it was only possible to have one nano-SIM + SD or 2 nano-SIMs
It is sooo disappointing, that the photo departments mainly produces only 12 MP pictures. When voting for 16:9 pictures, then the output gets reduced to approx. 9 MP. And this in the light of a 108 MP main camera. WTF!! Why can't the user opt for either a 4-cell binning (e.g. at daylight) and a nona-cell binning in low light / night conditions? Pictures with original 108 MP resolution are not an option, since the file size with more than 40 Megabytes is too large and the picture quality should not be impressive. I really hope for much more details in the upcoming review of the Galaxy S20 Ultra. Many thanks in advance to GSMARENA-team!

If not then how am I supposed to check whether your claim is legitimate or not? Huawei is a company very well known for vastly changing the image processing via software update through the course of a month or two, it makes no any sense for them not to push out the camera software used for DxOMark's testing to the users if it allowed them to get a good score.

Apparently some of former Nokia camera engineers are working for Apple as well, which explains their prowess in still photo/video processing. Other companies should consider hiring them too, if there's any left out there, of course.

Optical zoom doesn't reduce the megapixel count. Huawei has less than 7 megapixels at a 135mm equivalent field of view. When we are talking about the hardware at a 135mm equivalent field of view, then the real physical specifications are what matters here: (physical) focal length, entrance pupil and megapixels per field of view. In all three cases Samsung's specs are at least as good as Huawei's specs. The sharpness of the lens is important, too , but there are no specifications about this. Usually smartphone lenses are very sharp.

I am kinda disappointed honestly. For example the Huawei P30 from last year has 5x optical zoom, and this has 4x, and yet you pay 1400 $ for it! OK, I get it has 100x digital zoom, but who would use this feature when the object zoomed at will be very blurry? Maybe you would use it a few times, but what is more important is optical zoom. The rumors says the P40 will have 10x optical zoom(not 10x hybrid zoom, there is a difference). I hope this Huawei ban will be lifted, because it is pointless to buy the P40 Pro outside of China.
Just looked at some techradar full resolution sample images.
In perfect light conditions the details at 250mm look a tiny it better than at 103mm, but barely noticeable at pixel level. Probably they don't really crop the 48 megapixel sensor due to the Quad Bayer demoaicing artifacts and because Quad Bayer sensors don't capture as much detail. Instead they seem to rely more on the 12 megapixel sensor output.
At 50mm the center is sharp, but has a lot of colour artifacts. They seem to fuse the periscope camera data with the main camera because at 50mm the edges definitely look like digital zoom. So apparently for digital zoom they don't use the 108 megapixel sensor output.
lmao at all the photography experts complaining about the photos while using monitors that are under 4k.
Tech Radar has many samples.
108MP shots are very skin soft, 12MP mode does much better by far.
