I had the Xperia Acro S, and it was so good, that I bought one for my wife as well... I sold mine after a couple of years but we kept hers as a backup phone through the years.... and right now my 8 years old son uses this very same Acro S as a "gameboy" since I loaded it with several emulators and ROMs... The battery is still good for about 2 hours, but it became very laggy even without any other app installed.
What impresses me is that the Acro S was such a beast of a phone that even without a case, and after incalculably falls to hard floor, the screen is intact. It was on the level of the old legendary Nokias.
Acro S had the most connectivity I've ever known on a phone.... (maybe up to the ROG)...
It had microUSB with OTG compatibility
microHDMI compatible with CEC (controlling the phone with TV remotes)
Headphone Jack
microSD card
miniSIM
Dock Charging port with INCLUDED Dock on the box
NFC and regular wireless comms WIFI / Bluetooth.
I would buy an updated version of this same phone in a heartbeat.
I get Xperia P almost the same design but white pixel's screen, one of the best phones I get even with compare of mine Xperia 1 it was great! Still works btw.
Was easily one of the best two devices I've owned. The w880i and this brilliant Xperia S. Miss it.
I had this phone in 2014. Great device. A bought it right after HTC tattoo and it impressed me a lot. Unfortunately Sony support is weak and I got only one update. That was the first and the only phone from the Sony I had.
This night : The called Xperia 5+ by onleaks is the "Xperia 1 2020". Uptaded internals, most improvements will be screen and audio. Yes, screen is higher quality than xperia 1. The Qi charging and headphone jack are back.
Looks like only flagship will have new FPS. Merged with power button.
You can see L4 has FPS and power as two.
I owned one, and still miss it. Was one of the best phones I'v owned, and looked great.
XA2 was based on this phone.
SpiritWolf, 23 Feb 2020Still having mine. Battery is close to dead and lagging horribly with last Droid version it go... moreTheir designs were ahead of the curve.
great post
Still having mine. Battery is close to dead and lagging horribly with last Droid version it got. But design is still one of the best ever created.
Need a compelling flagship phone from Sony, something that can rival Samsung's Galaxy S and Note range. If so I would probably jump ship to Sony..
Ahh..one of the best smartphone purchase i've made back then. Really love the uniqueness of that LED lights around the phone along with its camera quality.
And that is start of the end.
- Poor quality display (yellow tint)
- Poor support (first they update all older phones then Xperia S)
- Poor support (on second update they update all new phones then Xperia S)
It was always a second place but it was first flagship of the company
And they continue with this trought Xperia Z line
Great Mobile In Old Days...
Best Camera Result With Beautiful Design.
Sony Was Advertised More and In Old Days. and Sony was Successor.
But Now They Not Focusing on Marketing or Advertising. and Sony is Losing its Importance.
Think About it Sony...
