Can we have removable batteries again? Almost everyone I've met uses a case for their phone so the phone's fancy finishing goes unnoticed so I wouldn't mind having a plastic premium phone if that means water resistance and removable batteries.

Hildr, 25 Feb 2020Say goodbye to your beloved glass unibody design then. Welcome the good ol' plastic back! I w... moreI never said that I like glass unibody. Samsung Galaxy S5 has a plastic removable back but it's IP67 compliant. I said that they should bring back the old standard slide on gold contacts between the phone and the battery instead of Lego connectors and glue/pull tabs. I can't believe that they're doing this in 2020 where it should've been done in 2015 when the Galaxy Alpha and S6 came along.

This is a very good idea.
There is no reason to not let the customer replace the batteries in his (or her) own cellhphone.

first of all, phone makers should get rid of glass back, it makes the phone heavier (weight) and its a pain in the ass when it breaks, it will cost you money to do so and if you're an iphone user it will cost you nearly the same price of the phone since they will have to change everything in the back side (thats their excuse for asking such a retarded price), dunno about other companies tho, it could be the same with flagships.
glass back doesn't make your damn phone feel more premium, its like a placebo pill effect, they will charge you more for it and tell you its premium and your brain will be tricked into believing so.

I would rather like a unibody like old lumia or iPhone, with only 2 screw on the bottom to free the frame and the screen from the body. Far far better than the all glued back that we have now. And people that take their time and are meticulous can also do it without trouble.

i remembered that either HTC or Motorola made high end android with screwed back panel that looks good.
the phones can still waterproof too as shown in old sony xperias.
