harwey, 01 Mar 2020A great phone, but that price...S20 Ultra is way too expensive with absolutely nothing special ... more21:9 ratio is perfect for watching movies. Did you know, all cinema movies use 21:9 as a standard so like 16:9, 21:9 is a standard ratio. At least it's more common unlike 18:9 to 20:9.
Dru, 01 Mar 2020Probably the last of Sony.. Is it just me but seems like Japanese have forgotten how to make ... moreunfortunately i have to agree with you:(
A great phone, but that price...S20 Ultra is way too expensive with absolutely nothing special to justify that price..This Xperia too,a unique 4k display and that's it?21:9 ratio, what's the benefit of that, except it looks like a TV remote, but Logitech Harmony Elite is helluva lot better at that for $250..
18w fast charging is simply not acceptable for any flagship in 2020.
Herr Zeba, 01 Mar 2020Sony can't compete with today's flagships prices 1+K after losing market share for so many yea... moreIt is not that simple. Retail price depends on tons of things.
Exchanging taxes has huge weight. Everything in Japan is very expensive.
People in Africa and LATAM pay much more for Galaxy and Iphone compared to Europe and North America.
Sony is not one that charges over $1700 in many nations for same device thay charge half in USA.
Charging $800 at risk of losing much more money than they do already is not going to male sales increase 400%.
Huawei sells more flagships than all other chinese combined. Even at much higher price.
Phone over $1000 is expensive? Yes. Just wait it drops to $700-800.
Curious thing is many ppl complain about price, but still do not buy even when price drops to half. They wait to complain again next year.
People demand best screen, best photos, best video, best audio, fastest performance, best build, max amount of ram/storage but for $500-600.
This does not exist ...
It's definitely a great smartphone with improved camera, battery, and headphone jack, but it lacks a DAC chip-which is my favorite feature on a mobile phone. And it's too expensive. If they priced it at $799, perhaps people would be swarming to get one.
ewki, 01 Mar 2020only 8GB of RAM ( 12 would be ok / 16 perfect ) UFS 2.1 ( should be 3.0 ) hybrid slot instea... morelol bro. Tell me what devices have 8k video with amazing result? neither samsung's or xiaomi's 8k video has good result man - watch reviews on youtube.
So where's their 64mp+ flagship? I think they should start adding everything at Mi prices. The Samsung Apple pricing is ridiculous.
why there is no wireless charging on a flagship phone
Love the Community, 01 Mar 2020UFS 2.1 and 3.0 barely makes a difference anyway. Both are Ultra Fast storages. Detractors lik... moreIgnore those that lie and say it has only 2.1.
3.0 has almost 2x speed of 2.1. .... 3.1 will be available this year.
Also , it depends on who is the supplier.
Note 10+ has 3.0, just like 7T Pro.
But Note 10+ has higher speeds of reading/writing.
Just like sd cards. Class 10 from Samsung, Sony, Kingston and Sandisk do not have same speeds.
Anonymous, 01 Mar 2020Too big, no thanks. If they had made a Compact, then sure, but Sony decided to fail by making ... moreExactly... One of the poll option was that the phone is "too small" and I'm like "WHAT? Is that a typo? Didn't you want to say "too big"?"
Anyway, cool phones except for the giantic size, but... 1 II is killed by its pricetag, 10 II is killed by the chipset. I don't understand why they'd cheap out on CPU out of all things - I don't know the prices but I doubt that SD712 is THAT MUCH more expensive than the old SD665, which speed-wise is lagging even behind the ancient SD660.
Sony can't compete with today's flagships prices 1+K after losing market share for so many years. They should start with lower prices this year, then go up. I like bigger battery, but shooting videos and taking photos drains the battery almost to zero after an hour, so the battery should be 4500 minimum. Other than that I'm exited as long as they deliver at least equal quality of photo/video as Samsung and Apple, which I doubt they will based on their track record. Marketing looks great on peper, real life use often don't match it. Also I agree they should have bring compact model, because there is huge market gap here and they were very successful in this before.
UFS 2.1 and 3.0 barely makes a difference anyway. Both are Ultra Fast storages. Detractors like you should not have a lifestyle where they rather want and flaunt the best thing they get and screw over the others.
Still too big. 18-19.5/9 aspect ratio would reduce the phone's length significantly, maybe even under the 150mm line (under 145mm would be ideal). I wouldn't even mind the phone getting thicker (1 to 2 mm) to fit a bigger battery. Width is perfect, especially for the Xperia 10II and the Xperia 5.
PLEASE Sony, make smaller phones again!
Anonymous, 01 Mar 2020Which flagship has dual sim non-hybrid today? So far, only Asus Zenfone 6 has not only Dual SIM but a dedicated microSD card to boot.

Why do ppl keep saying 2.1?
Of course it does not have 8K.
8K needs 42MP 4:3 sensor.
Anonymous, 01 Mar 2020Too big, no thanks. If they had made a Compact, then sure, but Sony decided to fail by making ... moreBruh, only hundreds of you want a Compact unlike millions who said nothing but accept having a larger phone. Sony =/= Compacts. Sales matter and sales shown that compact phones are the least sold form factor ever. Sure, they'll lose like $1000 x 100 but they'll earn $1000 x >100000.
Too big, no thanks. If they had made a Compact, then sure, but Sony decided to fail by making the same thing over and over again, so they deserve to.
