Shanti Dope, 01 Mar 2020Take this, the S20+ (non-5G) retails for around the same price as the Xperia 1 Mark II, which ... moreAgain informing you, S20 5g version and Xperia 1 II both have similar price range.. Don't compare the price of any insignificant country as you mentioned.. S20 5g definitely offers more including mmWave band.. And Apple today is not the only most significant brand (only in flagship and high end market). Samsung, Huawei, (Sony can be mentioned too) are two same significant companies in the whole smartphone market. That's why they shipment more phones than Apple. Specially Samsung fro decades..
I thought they would ask for second chance with xperia0... now I can only wait for miracles from huawei.
Future Leader, 01 Mar 2020Galaxy S20+ 5g version has a similar price range.. But How Xperia 1 II definitely offers less.... moreXperia 1 II has ddr5 and ufs3.0 ....
Only 1 problem:Start sales sooner! Not april/may. Sony dont make ppl wait this beauty and beast in one. Finally after mate20pro real successor with beauty and full beast inside. (Ppl with p30pro it lacks IR, qHD, notif.led so it is no better neither is mate30pro lacking GMS)
Anders, 01 Mar 2020A huge improvement over the previous generation, even brought the headphone jack back which is... morethey do not have the choice unfortunately, for the battery it is because of the 3,5 mm plug it is necessary to make a choice, and not of version 4g to decrease the price well damage. And considering the number of improvements in photos it does not shock me
Shanti Dope, 01 Mar 2020In less than 6 months, I'm sure it will be down to $900 until maybe $600 before the year ends.... moreif only you could be right but i don't see a big discount on last year's smartphones on sale. the Xperia 1 is almost at the same price as when it came out in Belgium, even on amazon where the Xperia are relatively low usually the X1 is still extremely expensive
Shanti Dope, 01 Mar 2020Big player or not, the hardware packed inside are no joke. They're top tier quality, which is... moreGalaxy S20+ 5g version has a similar price range.. But How Xperia 1 II definitely offers less. Xperia obviously is a all rounder smartphone but S20 5G obviously better in some more categories ie. better display and refresh rate, has ufs 3.0, More capable camera setup and more features, more secured fingerprint sensor, fast wireless charging and reverse charging, even 5g version has mmWave band..
Anonymous, 01 Mar 2020They never listen to me. Bring the compact flagship line back and Im sold. 5 to 5,5" on bezell... more...i think you're so far from finding a 5" to 5.5" screen in 2020... so you have to get used on those big screen, i know maybe it's not convenient for your hands but you have to deal with it! this is competition! compact size smartphones has retained the 6" screen while the regular is around 6"2 to 6.5" and the big is 6.5" above like the crazy s20 ultra 6.9" LOL
After seeing 1000usd for mi10pro, def better pay 1100usd for xperia I mark 2 and have Sony and Zeiss in my pocket. And lighter thiner and sexier.
Very let down by Lg V60 I was expecting more.
Maybe p40pro premium BUT HMS will need 1 more year for top apps like facebook viber and good navigation app. I do not see how it will happen faster! So p50pro 2021. Or at least december with mate40pro. I must wait. My fav company is Huawei, but gotta wait for better HMS
Shanti Dope, 01 Mar 2020In less than 6 months, I'm sure it will be down to $900 until maybe $600 before the year ends.... more...i hope so which is good for consumers whose interested in sony like me!
Anonymous, 01 Mar 2020Charging speed need to be in ratio with battery capacity. Overdoing it means turning it into a... moreI too LOVE my Xperias for that same reason. 3 years down the line and the battery still holds full charge close to its design capacity! Battery optimization has always been a strong feature of Xperias.
The battery lasts longer than higher-capacity flahships and the long-term charge is even better. Sony knows how to make quality products and I really appreciate that they won't sacrifice battery health just to tick a "charges in X minutes" box on the spec sheet. I prefer slower charge if it means keeping my battery in good state over the long run.
Also, it may charge slower but the same amount of charge will last you longer on an Xperia. It is the main reason why I buy Xperias.
Especially the "compact" versions (the closest thing now is the Xperia 5) are amazing. They have smaller screens and lower resolutions (though still very good resolutions for their screen size) but a proportionally "less small" battery. I can get 2 days of use on my Xperia 5 if I am careful and comfortably over a full day with intense use. So what if it charges 10% less in half an hour? It will still typically last longer than an S10 with 10% more charge...
Anonymous, 01 Mar 2020Well. Names like 11 Pro Max, Mate 30 RS Posche Design, 7T Pro 5G McLaren , Find X Lamborghi... more...i'd fall asleep before finishing writing those ridiculously long names! lol
it will be more expensive than Samsung S20 series
NBMSCH, 01 Mar 2020i totally agree.. people keeps complaining about the price which we all admit it's so expensiv... moreIn less than 6 months, I'm sure it will be down to $900 until maybe $600 before the year ends. That's how Sony rolls with their flagship phones.
Shui8, 01 Mar 2020Are you even bother to read my statement? 'Same goes to Iphone 11 Pro Max & S20 Ultra'. Di... moreMissed that part. Apologize.
But the point still remains - if Samsung and Apple can do it, then why not Sony?
Sony is still a very popular brand, and just a simple search on their website would immediately show their Xperia phones after their Sony Mobile site has been merged with Sony official site.
$250 is just an example of your delusional wants. High end components found in the Xperia 1 Mark II cannot be priced any lower than $1000 today. Same for the iPhones and Samsungs. The only problem here is that, only because Apple and Samsung got enough recognition, it also means they're the only brands that have the right to price their phones for over $1000, when in fact, Sony actually deserves to price their phones much higher than the two for the amount of things they pack inside their phones. That's a toxic mentality of today's community.
People have been spoiled by lower quality Chinese branded phones that cost ridiculously low, that they no longer know how to analyze a true quality product.
Marketing didn't even add that much value to the phones' pricings. Apple don't even do as much marketing as Samsung, yet their prices are overbearing.
I never asked you about being a Sony fan or not, and now that you did, I still don't give a damn. The X Performance was a true flagship phone that deserves its pricing, and even then, its price dropped down more significantly and faster than their competitors. How about let's talk about the Xperia 1 Mark II and not the X Performance, since it is the topic here and not that?
People's choice of not buying Sony phones is the incompatibility of those devices to their capabilities. Sony's are more for professionals that know how to utilize the phone's full capabilities that beat out any other phones, while Sammy's and Apple's are more for those lazy people who only want to press a single button and do everything in an instant. They targeted different markets and audiences, but those others assumed that they were the target, and got disappointed after knowing nothing about the product. Super clever, isn't it?
Anders, 01 Mar 2020A huge improvement over the previous generation, even brought the headphone jack back which is... moreCharging speed need to be in ratio with battery capacity. Overdoing it means turning it into a frying speed. Another important aspect is the time to full charge the battery, as we know low-cost brands such as Realme, Oppo just push the battery to the roof within half an hour, that's killing the battery right there every single time you charge it to 100. Charging time cannot be linear.
Shanti Dope, 01 Mar 2020Big player or not, the hardware packed inside are no joke. They're top tier quality, which is... morei totally agree.. people keeps complaining about the price which we all admit it's so expensive, but they never complain for the same matter when it's a samsung or iphone... Well, i wish it would be around $800 MAX $900, but this is it! flagship prices keeps increasing every year!
