It's because most of those apps have been killed by the OS already. So 4K is not overkill and does not waste battery but 16 GB RAM is and wastes battery? Your logic is suspect.

If you are concerned about apps in the background using battery, just kill them with the multitask button. Simple.

People are done with these hyper expensive phones. Bye companies who can't get on with times.

Above that screens are sharp enough that most users don't mind 1080p unless you get as close as 2cm away from the display.
Not huge of a difference that you'll feel you are downgrading.
I used ROG 2 with 120hz over s10 with QHD+ display @60Hz.
Didnt feel like a downgrade. More of an upgrade since you get a premium touch experience with lowest latency and under the hood improvements which cannot be replicated on any 60hz display.
Once you go 120hz on a smartphone, there is no going back.

Sony's target are the fans
nothing more nothing less
reason why sony still alive because of its fans
didn't even realized cause of its fans why its dying

Xperia 1 II is a bit pricey like all other top tier flagships, but it's pretty big improvement over previous generation. It packs ton of features and I think will be highly reviewed by people who understand photography a bit.
Xperia 10 II looks like an even bigger improvement over the last year model. IP65/68 rating, CGG6 and aluminum frame, quality OLED screen, triple camera. SoC could have been from 7XX series, but SD665 is latest SoC from 6XX series range. It's pretty good too.
Would have taken this phone for myself, but already got the Xperia 5. Will consider buying 10 II as a present.

The lcd on the mate 9 looks far more sharp than the mate 20. The lcd on the mate 20 look almost like a pentile amoled. So far i haven't found explanation why is that.
YogiBear83, 01 Mar 2020I think Sony uses normal RGB or RGBW OLED screens. I will check that tomorrow under microscope... moreNope, it uses pentile display from Samsung not real RGB panel... Too bad it.... If it were true RGB it would have been the perfect screen for a portable PSVR like Samsung gearvr
It's sounds not fair, but for me, it's down to price will Pixel 4 xl this autumn.
People will always again complain about its price, yes I know its very pricey but what do you expect? The phone isn't made in a cheap labored country. The phone has its own technology instead of borrowing technologies from the other brands etc.

I could almost vouch for the 10 II. A bit pricey but a great feature-set including the 21:9 ratio and waterproofing. But it fails in one critical area - memory. For 370$ in 2020, I demand at least 6GB.

Obviously they don't want that. If you want to get your hands on 1II for $800 you will just have to wait until December or January next year, that's all it is to it. You want the new and hot stuff you have to pay for it, you want last gen you get it at discount. Xperia 1 goes for $600 right now and if you do some digging you can find it for $570. Pretty great deal if you are OK with the last year model.
