US$208 million fine split between the 4 telcos? Letting the telcos explain their behavior *before* levying those fines?? Is that all the FCC can muster??? Pathetic! This federal agency has proven, once again, that it has very little, if any, backbone and is a paper tiger. Enough said here.

Jolt, 29 Feb 2020This is why I do everything that I possibly can to block the GPS on my phoneDon't bother. The phone company has to know where you are to route the connection to your phone.

They're not supposed to tell anyone else though ;-(

Is this the same FCC that said they will skip all health and safety testing with 5G? Lol. Now they all of a sudden have morals when they're able to make easy money by slapping somebody with a "fine".

Anonymous, 29 Feb 2020Exactly! And for these actions the fine should be twice the money they earned by selling data.... moreBuddy, its a third party agencies , they're no longer part of the Government. It stated that government was allowed to check the location of prison inmates and that is to safeguard the American peoples interest.

Matt99, 29 Feb 2020208 million is peanuts, they will have made billions from this fraud. Exactly! And for these actions the fine should be twice the money they earned by selling data.

I wonder: who are the "agencies" that bought this data?!!! CIA, FBI, NSA?!
