The Redmi note 9 pro China version is rumored to come with dimensity 800 chipset. Hopefully, it will also come with at least 3x optical zoom.

AKW2020, 04 Mar 2020Those are not really gimmick, good ultra wide angle is useful like you want to have a picture ... moreTrue. Im only saying at this price point when you give too many features the quality of many things suffer. Example what's the use of a 5x zoom if the image you get is poor? The pixel camera has a wide camera in-between wide and ultrawide. I think that's okay. I would have very quality basic features than average/poor quality with many features. Because let's agree under $300 there have to be cuts. You wont have 4 cameras which are on par with an iphone or a pixel. Sacrifices have to be made somewhere.
Amonimus, 03 Mar 2020Me also on Redmi Note 5... but let's be honest... There is very little difference between Redm... moreIn Note 8 Pro the 64mp camera makes hell of a difference in the picture quality, its just too good. Also you can easily play games such as PUBG on high settings smoothly. You can certainly not compare it with Note 5 lolol.... But yes, if you say that Note 9 and Note 8 might not have much of a difference then that is believable.
I really want to use this phone as soon as is it in Nigeria

Redmi note 9 will most likely sport Snapdragon 662... Pro one will have Snapdragon 720g/Dimensity 800..
rumours say its the new snapdragon 720G
instead of 765G or dimensity 800 .....
So nice phone resanly now coming plis
IpsDisplay, 03 Mar 2020No because LCD is superior to OLED at max brightness / whites Oled has a double edge sword ... moreYep, i'm on my first AMOLED screen and when i got it i noticed on my first day what a battery hog the display is. On my previous phone with LCD i could barely see a difference when i used data connection with screen turned off and screen turned on.
What of Redmi 9

Oled has a double edge sword every single pixel is basically a light bulb which is great when your phone brightness needs to be low or you need to show blacks ( blacks will "turn off" the pixels)
BUT the reverse is true when you turn up the brightness every single bulbs is on draining battery like mad and causing so much heat

These companies are releasing so many phones in small time gap. So software update is completely ignored. They update these phone to one android update. They do not provide time to time security update for long. Also some of the updates are so buggy.
All I need is 6gb ram. 128 gb storage, No less than 4000mah battery. Snapdragon 730 chipset, great camera, something on the level of the pixel 3a(even if its 1 camera i don't mind) and splash resistance(like the note 8 pro). The rest are gimmicks for me. 120hz, 4 cameras, 10x zoom, 5g, wireless charging.
What really surprises me is that peoples expectations regarding price and performance are ridiculously high, to the point that they expect sd865 level power for like 300$ or less, its just not realistic. Brands like Huawei started with cheap prices but during their increasing popularity, they recognized that theres more money to be made. The same thing is happening to Xiaomi now.
Amonimus, 03 Mar 2020Me also on Redmi Note 5... but let's be honest... There is very little difference between Redm... moreIm still on my 3 year old Huawei p9 Plus, so even the redmi note 8 would be an upgrade for me xD
Does LCD gets super hot like oled? I have the Exynos S10 and man this thing gets super hot when outside with brightness IN THE MIDDLE, not even above that
