Before that they made again 2 models per year - but they were e.g. Note 4 and Note 4x, which was more confusing.

Hmm, not that many month since they launched the 8 series redmi notes... Guess Xiaomi hasn't heard of the term "less is more" as they are really just saturating the market! I mean, sure they have smartphones in every pricerange, but cherning out model after model just leads to confusion and makes consumer choice more difficult.
