AnonD-18548, 30 Apr 2012Thank you GSMArena ... After reading your post, I checked and FINALLY found an upgrade. It is ... moreI think in Pakistan its the same middle east version of Galaxy SII... I cant wait to connect my Phone to Kies to check if its also available for Middle East. I am in Oman and if at all anyone knows that its release then let me know ...
I got mine (GT-I9100) updated to ICS OTA. By going to Settings -> About phone -> Software update. Downloaded 228 MB file and it installed itself. I didn't use Kies. Maybe try this?
BTW... I liked the customization options I had from CheckRom v6. Can't live without quick launch... I'm going back.
AnonD-52612, 30 Apr 2012just update ics in kenya on my s2Is your s2 the i9100G variant? Mine is, and i cant update.
the release of updates by region is the biggest weakness that the Android have. My Galaxy S II is still running 2.3.5 and a friend of mine have 2.3.3 and another is still running 2.2.x! (we bought our phones from different regions).
Android should really address the 'regional' release of updates, otherwise the alternative (Windows Phones) are starting to look better (since we can only compare them to Android 2.3.x).
i updated my GS2(9100G) to ics(4.0) through "odin multi downloader."
kindly visit sammobile.com to download this software on pc.or contact nearer samsung service center for ics update.
this is not fake news
if U Guys waiting for the KIES then SGS 16 will come out & still nothing in KIES
if its not globally rolled out by May 3(GS3 event) then its probably gonna take much longer, they wold love to say that GS2 is globally on ICS at the event and get some brownie points
when i connect my s2 it says your phone is up to date and i have gingerbread only...
why the hell it is not avaialble on my I9100DDKL1
Hi, i already have Samsung I9100G Galaxy S II and i dont see enough diferences with the updated, that's why i still prefere the 1st one.
dgaiku007, 30 Apr 2012how did you get the ics update?? kies or flashing??I did mine with ODIN. Kies was of no use. Went from 2.3 to ICS without any hassle. Found ICS stock ROM from a Polish site, but it was absolutely fantastic.
