AnonD-49259, 01 May 2012I have a gs2 and I've never used it to video call anyone.
to the guy saying apple might su... moreI completely agree with you, marketing is the most important thing right now. And Apple might sue, we don't know what technology RIM is bringing to the table with this one. I made that comment with regards to uinternals not the look of the phone. Although I really hope this developers device makes the cut because it looks better than the iphone4/s. The current touch bb all look to round and childish, this device looks more mature and serious.
we all know Apple probably already has its people researching or even getting a hold of this device to see if it can sue for something.lol Especially after the recent "Wake Up" fiasco in Australia.
This is the 1st time I have actually gotten excited over something related to RIM lol and it's just a Developers Device.
The best thing to do is advertise the hell out of it like 2 months before it is released onto the market. Sadly this device will probably be high-range priced with the features of a mid-range android.
The OS looks great. Clearly they have been working hard on this. The handset I guess is irrelevant since its just a development unit. But still, that hardware spec shows serious intent. I never owned a BB myself since I wasn't into the heavy typing, but I hope they come up with something special. Good luck RIM!
Too late again. Others already have even better devices in the market.
honestly, I think this is definitely a rip off if the iphone 4. But without the annoying glass back. This looks a lot more sturdy. But this BB 10 OS looks like what iOS should've been. One the whole this could very well be what the iPhone 4 should've been :/ this new OS is gonna bring some very interesting features that other platforms will mimic. That text input seem very good. Better than swype of iOS auto correct.
Dear GSM arena i dont think it would make sense if
the dev unit looked the same and the handset that is coming
out later on in the year. Because that would mean that everyone
has seen it also. you wouldnt have anything to do because you couldnt
make up wild speculations for the rest of the year.

to the guy saying apple might sue. for what? its a Dev unit not a retail unit. its not even the final design.
RIM is going in the right direction with this though. BIS with its unlimited data+ a new os based on QNX+ better specs+ BBM = a damn good package.
another plus is that it will be able to run android apps. so BB will final have decent apps.
all they need to do now is come up with a great marketing campaign.
Anonymous, 01 May 2012it's 2012 now and RIM's Blackberry has not provide video call camera... Because most people simply don't use it, why increase a cost of a device to put something pointless in. I've had a phone with a front facing camera since 2005 when the 3250 came out and through all my phones I bet ive done video calls less then 5 times.
Anonymous, 01 May 2012it's 2012 now and RIM's Blackberry has not provide video call camera... You are probbably blind because there is a secondary camera to the right of the speaker grill.
Anonymous, 01 May 2012it's 2012 now and RIM's Blackberry has not provide video call camera... open your eyes!!! Their is a video call camera right there on the developer device! to your right of the earpiece smh damn fanboys never actually pay attention, you probably didnt even read the article, you just came to bash smh
Blackberry has finally decided to move in the right direction! the current OS's and even the higher end blackberry's suck compared to even the mid range androids. My N97 mini still gives the torch competition smh
But just the look of this device screams android, which is a good thing, and when you factor in the fact that RIM has opened the playbook to run android apps it makes you wonder if they will make a deal with Google for their phones to have access to the android market. couple that with the famous bbm and you will find yourselves actually wanting a blackberry lol Just look at the fact that it actually has a microHDMI port! this is the 1st bb to have any type of tv out function.
I cant honestly say that RIM may actually be making the comeback that I wish Nokia had done.
I just hope Apple doesn't sue them for something :/ lol cuz we all know it's coming lol
