KF, 08 Mar 2020I always think the extra price you pay for the 'pro' version is not that worth it compared to ... morefor real, if it is just somewhere between 900 and 1000 for the pro model, I would definitely line up for the pre order, but damn 1200 is just too much

I know I constantly say that, but I'd buy it if it would have been a real continuation of the original Find X, meaning pop up which host 3D facial recognition (sadly the Find X was the ONLY smartphone with such combinaison, a newer one wouldn't have hurt), this is a serious downgrade to remove that JUST to put a hole on a display that supposedly amazing, no point making amazing display and puncture it.
It would be as stupid as buying a brand new TV and permanently hide a part of the screen.
I also hate curved edge display, but if a phone had other features I want, I may overlook that aspect.
A 5x OPTICAL zoom would have been better for the non pro and potentially a 10x OPTICAL one for the pro, hybrid zoom are as bad as numerical zoom once you go past the optical zoom capabilities, periscope allow for such optical zoom, even if light is lost the more you zoom, it still way better than any hybrid or digital zoom.
There are small things which could have been improved ! Like the lack of a Jack !!!
A dedicated camera button with a quick picture mode would also be interesting.
The lack of SD card support is also a sad thing, the industry try to make more and more powerful smartphones, yet while more and more apps are available and some take increasingly more space, the internal memory is still low and when it become large enough it is quite expensive, an SD card is IMO a really good solution, we could install all heavy loading apps on the phone and the rest on the SD card, this is even more true about phone with big camera setup...Though the worse is when it happen with a gaming smartphone as game tend to take a lot of space, but the Find X isn't marketed as one so that's that...

But clearly, the real good point of this smartphone is its Sony IMX689 sensor, also their coprocessor for the display is an interesting and nice addition !

So it have good point, but it is too far from my top wanted features to consider buying it, if we talk about swaping my OnePlus 6t for the Find X2 or X2 Pro, for free or low cost, yes, of course, but I wouldn't spend much on a phone with a punch hole, no 3D facial recognition, curved edge display and no audio Jack.

I always think the extra price you pay for the 'pro' version is not that worth it compared to the vanilla version of any phone. But here I think it's worth paying EUR 200 more for the pro. But the actual price should be something like 700/900 instead of 1000/1200.

No memory expansion, no headphone jack and gigantic size. No, thank you, even if it was way cheaper.

Oppo was successful in Finding Nemo (X), but I'm not sure if they'll be successful in Finding Dory (X2).

The phone is good, but it isn't quite special unlike the original Find X. That phone looked too futuristic. It was special.

Oppo is not a big name brand like Samsung or Apple. These 2 can pupmp up prices and sell many units without any problem.
Oppo should have set prices about 20-30 % prices and they would make a name for themself much easier and faster.
Many of us heard of Oppo here and there and that's why we are not willing to spend that much for a brand we don't know much about.
I would rather pay 200 $ extra and get S20 Ultra.
But i will wait for another phone or price drop instead.
