I'm considering selling my iPad and downgrading to a non-pro just to get rid of the spot.

Anonymous, 07 Mar 2020Base iPads (2019) has a premium price???Dude Apple always charges premium for their products. The products that they dish out at lower price have equally poor hardware like 720p screen for iPhone 11.

The modem didn't work so 4G signal can't be found. I didn't mention this in my previous comment. I had to bring to the service center again next day, but fortunately, the repair was free of charge.

Now look even Apple can get it right. And someone I know had his old cheap Redmi 4X fixed because of screen damage and there was no issues then. Samsung just messed it up.

Just got my replacement unit 3 days ago. My original unit just went blank as what the article had described. I went to a iMac Center for it to be checked and true enough the technician said it has a hardware problem and they’re replacing it brand new since i only got it kast November 2019.

My friend's ipad (2nd of third, dunno) died after an OS upgrade. They offered him to take his device for a discount on a similar refurbished one. I bet it was another poor user's ipad that died for the same reason.
No free repair was offered then :(

Not only Samsung. Look at Jerry Rig Everything on YT so you could see teardowns of phones flagship or not. Screens not attached to the front panel easily bends or breaks like old phones from Xiaomi.

This is what you get when you put cheap components inside a device and sell it at premium price. As usual iOS users still think it's premium quality.

Then asking 200$ to replace minor crack is okay as long as the display replaced is original and the best on the market. Pay up Mr. Brand boy.

I'm worried about mine since I bought my iPad Air last month and the unit was manufactured in Sep 2019. Will Apple be replacing ALL units manufactured in this timeline or will they replace it only if my iPad Air's screen goes blank permanently? Also, it isn't clear whether this is a hardware or a software issue. Customer service wasn't very helpful. Hopefully, they give a whole new iPad instead of just a repair. On a good note, seems that this service program is valid for 2 years since the date of purchase.

I just wonder, if someone who had this issue before the Service program and got charged to repair, will actually get a refund. If yes, then it's all good, stuff happens. If no, then F U Apple.

Read my comment below with my experience fixing a Note FE in an official service center. Whole panel just gets replaced. When I could have saved 75%.

Intentional throttling is ok because it's still faster than Samsung (throttled iPhone 6s is still faster than my Note FE and runs games, ex. PUBG Mobile, at medium framerate & graphics with no lag vs. low graphics medium framerate but device just gets hot).

Only Chinese OEMs are wallet-friendly. Both Samsung and Apple fools around with servicability. Note 10 battery is also glued.

apple just fix things when someone outside apple found them...

like the limit performance when battery is losing life, like...if nobody found that, they can still do it, but now they know people found the "secrets" and then apple will need to renew their strategy to f*** costumers again, just wait and see! ahahahah

Apple has a bad habit of identifying issues TOO late and then slapping customers a bill from it. Really need to step up in terms of servicability. But at least it's improved slightly because they've made iPhone batteries easier to replace recently.

Unlike Samsung which requires you to replace the whole front panel if there is a screen crack. Happened with a Samsung Note FE. Only minor scren crack (no issues with display) and was asked $200 equivalent for it. Whole front panel got replaced instead when not necessary. It was already 2 gens old that time.

Now I have some hope for Apple this time around, but unfortunately Chinese OEMs still lead in this issue. And Chinese OEMs do not have any recall issues with their flagships lately.
