The Rx100 has a zoom lens and a mechanical shutter, nearly all phones have prime lenses and an electronic shutter. Furthermore the Xiaomi Note 10 is equivalent to a 115mm² sensor with f/2.2 OIS lens. And the focal length and image circle radius of the lens would be only 30% higher.
Furthermore a large sensor alone has nothing to do with good image quality. A larger sensor only means that more light can be captured at base Iso (only perfect light conditions). In low-light conditions it's useless when the effective aperture diameter of the lens is small. A 40mm² sensor with a lens that has a 3.0mm effective aperture diameter captures approximately the same amount of light per time as a 864mm² sensor with a lens that has the same 3.0mm effective aperture diameter and same field of view.
Moreover image processing is much more important. Already years ago smartphones like the Google Nexus 5x in HDR+ On mode outperformed full frame cameras when it comes to the visible jpg dynamic range of the scene.

Baretta, 09 Mar 2020Before i jumpin on the bandwagon, quick question; Will Huawei P40 Pro have unlocked bootloader?No it won't.
Huawei won't be allowing users to unlock their bootloader like other manufacturers.
This is indeed a dealbreaker for me. I was going to wait for the Mate 30 pro. But after Huawei started locking bootloaders, I grabbed another flagship.
Their phones are overall great and lack of Google Play services which isn't a big deal especially with the workaround solutions. But the lack of bootloader unlocking is a huge dealbreaker.

Haha no word on the sensor size of the 10x telephoto lens which means it will struggle in low light this year too.
Mark my words, there wouldn't be much difference between 10x hybrid optical from S20 ultra and 10x optical from P40 Pro.

But the issue is size of module. Sensor is 61% larger than Isocell HM1/HMX.
Also lenses get larger too in size and space between them.
Look at Sony RX100 VII. It has f2.8 - f4.5 ...
Module is too huge for a phone.
No way phone could have bigger than f5.

Huawei's flagship isn't even the top selling flagship in China. That title goes to Oppo. A name that was chosen because it sounds similar to Apple when you pronounce it. Who knew? And the recent Oppo flagship fills the spec sheet as much as any flagship. Bottom line is none of the top phones are miles ahead of each other in the camera dept. They are all very good cameras so Huawei is not taking the flagship crown away from anyone based on its camera unless it can determine if you have a disease.
