piku, 12 Mar 2020Agreed with Oneplus phones are mid range phone with flagship processor nothing moreDo you know that OnePlus phones have the best Android skin, OxygenOS. It gives the smooth experience just like iOS with customizable Android. They are the first smartphone manufacturer to introduce 90 Hz refresh rate on any smartphone display. Now, they're going to launch 120 Hz. (180 Hz could be epic though). They don't spend too much money on silly things like unnecessary bloatware ,fancy accessories, a lot of sensors like Samsung flagships which are costly without any practical reason. Rather, OnePlus phones come with 30W charger wheares Samsung and Apple phones come with 15W and 5W chargers respectively though they are claimed to support faster charging. Apple entered the smartphone industry in 2007. Samsung did so in 2009. OnePlus entered only 6 years ago. What else do you expect from a new smartphone brand?

Later in 2020, Qualcomm decided to ship every SD865 with X55 modem.
The cost for 4g only version of SD865 (with disabled 5g modem) is less coz manufacturers don't have to pay for 5g certification.
Just like OnePlus 7t being water resistant doesn't get official IP Certification since they don't pay for the certification to cut costs.

Still its a far better flagship than Sony, Samsung or apple thanks to a clean android constant updates and great UI and ech used only in Oneplus phones.
And for a decent price.

Oneplus iterations are getting more and more boring. Now they offer elephant-heavy phones with less and less features, with prices ramping up. Having my last OnePlus in hand - 7T - i see even high freq screen isn't worth it, isn't useful as you simply don't spend your day watching how raw scrolling is smoother, instead a GPU solution is needed to make it pleasant for eyes.
At the time the new model 8 will be presented, i'll have money reserved for the actual flagship - Xperia 1.2 - which will give us what OnePlus robbed us of - every single feature people miss, from jack, through SD card to IP certificate. From wireless charging, through 21:9 HDR BT2020 screen to notchless display.
The flagship of the year is coming, and it's the pseudoflagship killer.
Anonymous, 11 Mar 2020Dont forget people that 2020 flagships are floating around 1300 Euros+ Bad sales are guaranteed with this price tag in 2020.
With Qualcomm asking $130 just for 865+X55 a price increase is guaranteed. Look at S20, international version with Exynos are $200 cheaper than US version
