Still has the best Audio quality and it is important to some.
WazzaG, 15 Mar 2020And you obviously don't have a good grasp of.... Oh forget it, I'm fed up dealing with someone... moretechnological stone age???? lmao no. Well yes the tech has been around for a century but is there any that beats the quality? nah fam, so how'd you even register it as a stone age tech? u trippin bruh. Aight we get it u got the money to satisfy them greedy corporates scheme, but hey you know you can still use them tws even if ur phone still has the jack, or I guess u dont know about that.
cyber , 15 Mar 2020greedy companies wants to sell their ~150 euro wireless crap that can reproduce ~15 euro wired... moreYes. Sony Mobile said after MWC 2018 (XZ2 press) that they got orders from above to make it jackless because sales of wireless are higher than wired.
Then they realized you do not need to do it. Better giving all options.
I think it is one of many reasons of the HTC fall.
Sony xperia 1 ii has it and they'll take my money this time... sorry Samsung can't do without headphone jack and SD865...tired of those poor Exynos...
Can't wait for Sony...
1 more reason I'll skip the S20 series and wait for Sony xperia 1 ii...
It's a complete package with everything I want...

PartTimePhoner, 15 Mar 2020People didnt. Iphones sold well enough didnt they?Forget Apple. Their fans would even buy Cook's iPoop.
Remember the backlash Motorola had with first Moto Z? Or Xiaomi with Mi 6? Or even the Essential Phone?
Still, in few years, when wireless headphones will be good and cheap, much less people will care for the headphone jack.
Pabliell, 15 Mar 2020People cared. Manufacturers didn't.How dare you. Manufacturers cared for the headphone jack. So much in fact that they monetized it as a dongle.
Pabliell, 15 Mar 2020People cared. Manufacturers didn't.People didnt. Iphones sold well enough didnt they?
PartTimePhoner, 15 Mar 2020Because the targeted audience didnt care. Low-end buyer audience will care though.People cared. Manufacturers didn't.
WazzaG, 15 Mar 2020I just save for my stuff. I'm not prepared to stay with a wired connection to my phone, I'm mo... moreAre there really people who keep their phones in their wallets? That's just plain dumb. And inconvenient. Or you meant those wallet cases? Those are also fairly dumb. No need for wires to be a target though. If you see a fat rectangle protruding through a pocket, you know that's a phone and a wallet. Thieves will know what to do henceforth. In fact having wired headphones would help prevent this. As soon as the guy steals your phone, your wired headphones would disconnect or you'd be pulled with them. But with wired headphones, your music would continue for at least three meters, giving that much headstart to the thief.
Pabliell, 15 Mar 2020After some time all manufacturers would do the same. Just as we see now in mainstream flagships. Because the targeted audience didnt care. Low-end buyer audience will care though.
PartTimePhoner, 15 Mar 2020I think it would make people go for other brands who kept the audio jackAfter some time all manufacturers would do the same. Just as we see now in mainstream flagships.

That was a time where looks were a mere afterthought. I'm 1000% sure anyone could bring back a flagship with all the bells and whistles (except pop-up selfie cams maybe) and all the essentials if they wanted to.
Abhi-Darth-Plagueis, 15 Mar 2020Not necessarily, I mean there are other, less powerful implementation of GPU architectures whi... moreMeh, maybe. It's just that mobile GPUs have increased in power efficiency at a drastic pace. A GTX 1050 still gobbles up tons of energy for a phone. "Efficient" laptop gaming hardware still has a TDP well above 100W for entry level laptops, the GPU being the bulk of that (Intel H and HQ hardware is made for 45W). Maybe you meant something closer to the Tegra X1/X1+ (the 16nm die shrink in the -01 Switch and the Shield 2019) and maybe an upgraded GPU based on Pascal rather than Maxwell. To which I say is actually doable.
But as you say, phone gaming is now firmly into freemium and Pay-2-Win territory. A lazy and lucrative business they won't give up no matter what. And usually people are happy with it. Having better graphics won't make them publish higher quality games
PartTimePhoner, 15 Mar 2020If thats really your reasoning you have gone nuts mateNo. I just move with the times.
I'm quite happy to save up, spend my cash carefully on good stuff, I try before I buy where possible.
I'm more than happy to see the end of wired connections and technological stone age stuff. Most of my stuff is stored on a PC,tablet and my phone, each requiring a different 16 digit passcode to gain access to. PC can be unlocked using a fingerprint scanner or smart card.
The PCs hard drive is encrypted to 256-bit, which is backed up by a hard drive and cloud drive. Tablet and (phone will be) is set to be erased remotely. Like I said I'm moving on.
You can stay with your silly corded headphones and earphones. I'll go wireless.
