Losing the headphone jack on phones is just the beginning. Rumors point to Apple ditching the lightning port on the 2021 iPhones... ugh.

I know that the latest firmware is 4.2.2, which supersedes the previous 4.1.1 firmware. Maybe you were referring to the loss of effectiveness of the ANC since 4.1.1, which I believe hasn't been resolved. I say believe because I own these headphones since mid-2019 and had 4.1.1 preinstalled. I find ANC to be very good and 4.2.2 only slightly improved it. Maybe a placebo effect though lol.
I will not buy a new phone without bit. Looking at you, Xperia.
Lol technological stone age ? :P
My $10 wired earphones sound better than my friends Sony wireless crap that is far more expensive. If the earphone breaks I need to spend just $10 to get another pair. And he needs to charge the battery every week or else those Sony headphones are good only as a paper weight. Thats hardly what I call technological progress. Its a side grade at the very best and not something appreciated by people tired of charging multiple batteries.
Simple TL;DR: Until Bluetooth headphones have virtually ZERO latency, have incredible quality when listening to FLAC audio, and have batteries that can last 8 hours on a single charge (this part has been achieved thankfully), the headphone jack should stay. Period.
P.S. Dongles are not great in quality and I don't like abusing the Type-C port with charging and using headphones. Let's not forget that dongles actually reduces battery life (even if slightly) compared to headphones that don't need the battery for audio transfer.
Companies need to resurrect it back. Period.
It may have low margins and may not generate profits for Bluetooth audio tech but it's a necessity!
And kudos to brands like LG and Sony for keeping it.
The orginal reason for removing the headphone jack was to have more space for stuff in the phone, this was when phones barely reached 5inches and now theyre way bigger but still no room for a headphone jack
You know what, I'd understand removing the headphone jack from low-end phones, simply for cost saving. But in $1000+ flagships? They should have everything lower end phones have and add on top of that. Be it features or performance.
Removing the headphone jack from flagships is just a greedy move to force you to buy wireless headphones. Nothing else.

Well, we are still vengeful for the unwarranted death of the headphone jack and we don't care about your Sony headphone because we don't have it. If I do have it, I could've helped you out with something.
To me, some snide comments are the truths commonly said by and for the masses.

Have they resolved the issue with the previous firmware that they released?

Google removed it on their Pixel 2, and Samsung removed it on the Note 10/S20, and no tech reviewers said anything bad about these phones.
Hypocrites
