Anonymous, 19 Mar 2020I prefer OLED on smartphones. I have IPS on 2 of my monitors and on my 4k TV. I want something... moreNo for me ips is better, not causing headache and durability is much better...amoled advantage that i missing from ips is always on display and true black colour. But my decent ips phone (htc u11) black is good enough for me.
Anonymous, 19 Mar 2020If they can keep the price down, I'm fine with a 60hz panel.Nailed it!

Marketing is what sells. Do you think averageg consumers are buying $1k+ phones from Apple & Samsung are not affected by the specs sheet?
If they can keep the price down, I'm fine with a 60hz panel.

What a waste of the SD865's performance. 120Hz IPS would've made this phone a beast like the Razer Phone. But instead we have to have AMOLED because that's what the consumers have been brainwashed into thinking is superior.
IpsDisplay, 19 Mar 2020So it's gonna switch from a high quality 120hz LCD of the k30 With its 1.0 delta E colour a... moreI prefer OLED on smartphones. I have IPS on 2 of my monitors and on my 4k TV. I want something new. All day all night OLED feels more premium than any IPS LCD on Smartphone. Both OLED and IPS have pros and cons and deppends on the consumer taste which one to choose.
This is such an awful decision to use 60Hz AMOLED. Makes zero sense in terms of futureproofing when SD865 can EASILY drive 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rates. How come they use 120Hz in the cheaper K30 model, yet the much more powerful SD865 gets half of that?
I mentioned in my previous posts that I wanted this phone to have IPS, but even for people who were hoping for AMOLED, I can see EVERYONE being disappointed with this when 90Hz is becoming commonplace for flagships in 2020.
Can't believe they ruined such a perfect phone!
KungYii1994, 19 Mar 2020I get rog 3 or bs3 insteadYes the BS3 is much better with same main camera, very good looking phone, additional cooling, higher refresh rate panel and is priced similar.
Flgshp2020, 19 Mar 2020So they put 120hz display on the regular k30 which can barely handle 120hz refresh RATE, Whi... moreAt least they could use 75 hz screen. 60hz is to low for device with 865. But if price is to low than we can't say anything.
Stop this OLED madness. Not everyone is a fan of oversaturated colours. AMOLED induce headache at low brightness due to flickering and to mitigate this effect a dc dimming feature needs to be implemented. AMOLED can also suffer from burn ins due to high brightness and especially if you play games for hours at medium to high brightness. A high refreshing and colour accurate LCD is anyday better than AMOLED. I hope the K20 Pro is launched with 120 Hz LCD. Maybe then I'll buy it.
So they put 120hz display on the regular k30 which can barely handle 120hz refresh RATE,
While they put 60hz on the flagship pro version running SD865?
This is not acceptable and purely a ploy to keep costs low since AMOLED 120HZ 1080P display costs much more.
2020 is the year of high refresh rate displays.
Even 200 dollar devices have it.
60hz won't be future proof since the typical lifespan of a phone is at least two years. Who knows what the next android versions might pack of features that utilize high refresh rates displays
So it's gonna switch from a high quality 120hz LCD of the k30
With its 1.0 delta E colour accuracy and 1.2 minimum nits brightness lower than even the iPhone 11pros Max's oled..
To a low quality OLED I bet smh
The herd mentality for oled smh
The phone would have been cheaper too

Gorgeous 84x48 screen (anything beyond is a gimmick wasting precious battery!), one black color (millions of colors are gimmick wasting precious battery!), 10hz screen (high refresh rates are gimmicks wasting precious battery!), no touchscreen (useless tech wasting precious battery!)
Nokia 3310 lasts a whole month on a single charge because it doesn't have any of those useless modern gimmicks, yay!
Someone, 19 Mar 2020I believe through Modding we will be able to increase the refresh rate. Any words on the touch... moreWhy would you even bother modding?
It's an oled panel it doesn't have an independent backlight so it's gonna have serious color curve problems
Then why the s...y 730g on K30?! 765 or Mediatek have been better
Dissapointing 60hz refresh rate, there should be an option for at 90hz. Now I am not sure if I post through my plan of buying this.
Guess who's not buying?
