Would it kill them if they added 21:9 mode for still images at launch?

Is it you Pro, 24 Mar 2020"upsample and upscale" are not exist in real life. If the "Audio File" is compressed, there i... moreupscaling do exists...
and any other type of interpolation...
you are right with "if it is not there, it is not there"
but through well designed algorithms they can fill in a certain space with something, but of course it wont replicate the real thing...
for instance, superslowmo captures from some other brands uses the adjacent frames to fill in more frames... so let say a 240fps can be made into 960fps and you guess it right, it will come blurry... but, music being periodic or uses some patterns is a bit different story... try one, and you will be enlightened... but of course a flac is a flac... and xperia can handle that... and wait, 360 sound with the help of services, like tidal... that is wow...

I am only buying Sony phones for more than 20 years, if they don't give us night mode and eyefocus on wide angle cam then am off

Vijay , 27 Mar 2020Is this mobile will launch in India? I don't think so. They have moved out of few countires due to their Business model changes. India is one of those countries. I guess People has to be blamed for it. Not many People in india buy Sony. They either go for mid range/Cheap or Apple for brand issues.

Comparing it with mid range is not a good comparison imo. Xperia 1 camera might be the best but definetly not the worst.

I really hope Sony updates the "old" Xperia 1 with Nightmode as well.

Since even midrangers from RealMe and Xiaomi for 200$ provides this.

Everything else would be quite unfair to owners of Xperia .

[deleted post]Sony flagship mobiles all won IF design Award. Guess you have bad taste in design.
If you like notches/puncholes, you can always buy the other Smartphones.

Kasekor, 24 Mar 2020Will Xperia 1 II has no longer problem on high heat? The only last Xperia which has heating issues is Z5 with SD 810. Not just Sony, that year all mobiles companies had the heating issues. I still don't know what heat issue you Talking About?? If you Play games/ Continuous Video, any device will get heat. After all These flagships doesn't have cooling Systems like gaming mobiles or Laptops.

And to the point - who cares, at least it's not having a notch and it has real, stereo speakers.

Dynamic range compression (DRC) or simply compression is an audio signal processing operation that reduces the volume of loud sounds or amplifies quiet sounds thus reducing or compressing an audio signal's dynamic range.

How can be both the same??

They probably are fixing some hardware issue, that's why they did not officially unveiled the release date or they were simply showing off non-working prototype/dummy case.
There are no new reports, because there is nothing to report, we have to wait for Sony to figure it out.
