s8 9.0, 23 Mar 2020cant understand why k30 has 120hz refresh rate while k30 pro cant even have 90hzWell at least the Pro doesn't have a filthy hole'd LCD.
IpsDisplay, 23 Mar 2020Thank Qualcomm for increasing the 865 by almost 40% for basically nothing and basically forcin... moreIt was OEMs decision, not Qualcomm.
Qualcomm is price gouging on the SD865 ... Exynos is shiitt & Huawei banned. Qualcomm just dictates the price.
IpsDisplay, 23 Mar 2020Thank Qualcomm for increasing the 865 by almost 40% for basically nothing and basically forcin... moreActually SD865/5G costs more than 2x.
I think it is $170 agains $80 of SD855.
100 dollars too expensive. And this is the China prices, expect global release to be more like 620usd
Just swap the screen to LCD , use the exact one on the k30 (it's a high quality LCD)
Change the glass to more durable plastic
That should cut the price properly seeing that the 865 is extra expensive
Although not everyone will agree they can even go further and use the dimensity 1000
I'm exciting for this phone for many months in hope they will be pricing this as the K20 pro but it turns out that they increase the price dramatically so I'm just have to skip this.
cant understand why k30 has 120hz refresh rate while k30 pro cant even have 90hz
Namelesss, 23 Mar 20202020 is shaping up to be the year of expensive phones, all OEM are increasing the price of the... moreThank Qualcomm for increasing the 865 by almost 40% for basically nothing and basically forcing 5g
The OEMs could save using the dimensity 1000 but we still gotta wait
Pros over k20 pro/mi 9t pro:
IMX686 OIS
Telephoto 3x OIS
Sd865
5G for some
Rumored bigger battery and better vibration motor
Should you pay the price premium over its predecessor? If camera is your priority then definitely YES!
Is it better than vanilla Mi10? May be, may be not. The point is that you have a choice whether you want a clean display!
Is 60hz that big deal? There is a brand still Notching strong in 2020 with 60hz displays and very very premium prices, but its customers are not crying like the end of the world arrived.
For 500 USD+ they could've at least pumped the refresh rate to 90hz
Gonna skip this handset
Few reasons for the possible price increase:
UFS 3.1
LPDDR5
SD X55 Module
And of course the damn virus.
2020 is shaping up to be the year of expensive phones, all OEM are increasing the price of their phones substantially, and for what : No IP rating, big megapixel count camera sensors that bring only minimal improvements, more fragile phones (curved displays are more prone to breaking and more expensive to replace). This is very unfortunate for us consumers, definitely won't encourage me to buy a phone this year
Man, with the way you guys have reported on this phone (120hz screen, two imx686 sensors), I'm having trouble believing anything, but if true, 520$ usd is way too much for a phone like this.
The phone is basically a refresh: sd855->865, lpddr4->5, ufs2.1->3.1, imx586->686, 27w charging->33. There's also a battery capacity increase, but the telephoto is gone.
This makes Mi10 price increase look way better and I guess that is their goal.
Anonymous, 23 Mar 2020$520, wait now redmi is premium overpriced phones? Redmi now is seperated brand, not lower class of the Xiaomi line up. Take the last year example. After Mi 9 then came Redmi K20 Pro then later Mi 9T Pro for global variant. AFAIK, Mi 9T is not cheaper than Mi 9.
Overpriced, with the covid virus breakout.... Am not looking to buy new phone this year. Wonder how things look next year.....
"not quite clear what the differences between the vanilla and “zoom version” - yes, you got to be a genius to understand the difference from the name.
$520, wait now redmi is premium overpriced phones?
