AnonD-754814, 23 Mar 2020This news is super confusing. I don't think the leak is true. It's not logical at all. Why? Because it's Huawei?

Good performance, for a midranger. The problem I see is the lack of GMS. Despite all the rants about Google spying through their OS and associated apps, not having GMS in hypotetical phones with this SoC is a huge dealbreaker for mamy.
If HiSilicon decide to sell their chipsets to other OEMs, things could be better, because it will create pressure on Qualcomm, but sadly, that's not going to happen.

https://m.gsmarena.com/oneplus_7-review-1954p4.phpGSM Arena usually get low scores in benchmarks so I couldn't care less about their results.
I just ran Geekbench 4.4.0, on stock Oxygen OS 10.0.4.GM57BA and got 3556 single and 11239 in multi, lower than the 3600 I got in September but still higher than 3450.
They only wrote Geekbench 4, we don't know if it's really 4 or 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 etc
Whatever, a midrange SoC getting that result is still impressive, let's see how much the phones will cost, if they're priced like Samsung's Galaxy A51, this Kirin 820 is definitely the best deal and Samsung is in trouble.

Sd845 anounced in december 2017 so the difference between them is 2 years not one year. Sd765 was better at single core but way worse when it comes to multi core which is way more important than single core. While kirin820 was able to match sd855 at both single and multi core.
For a mid-range SoC, that's pretty damn impressive. No two ways about it.
Kirin 1020 is also expected to be a high performer in the flagship range. It will also be the first 5nm smartphone SoC. Impressive stuff all around.

How does that perform compare to Apple Chipsets? 2 years behind? And also how does it perform against 865??
Well, my OnePlus 7(SD855) does 3600 single core score in Geekbench 4, I wonder which phone did this 3450.
Not bad for a mid-range SoC, now will it throttle and have graphical bugs in games, now that's what I need to know.
Flgshp2020, 23 Mar 2020SD765 was launched last year so technically it matched single core performance of a 1 year old... moreThe SD765 was launched together with the SD865, it's barely 4 months old and not many global phones use it yet. So the SD765 is playing catch up with the 2 year old SD845.
Flgshp2020, 23 Mar 2020SD765 was launched last year so technically it matched single core performance of a 1 year old... moreIt didn't match the single performance of the SD855.
SD855's prime core runs up to 2.84ghz-2.96ghz on the Plus. SD765's single core tops up at 2.4ghz and it's the same Cortex A76 core.
