it doesn't even come close to the S855, geekbench is not the only test.
If you test them in PC Mark, or SPEC it will get destroyed by S855.

The performance of the SD765 should be lower than the SD855 in single core because it has a lower clocked Cortex A76 core. The Kirin 820 beats both those SOCs in single core performance. Huawei isn't playing catch up it leading the way.
That awkward moment when your midrange has similar performance with your flagship. If they could put in A77 cores, it would give them a slight edge. As much as I don't like Kirin, more competition is good.
mesand, 23 Mar 2020Dude this is a midranger Chipset :D

sorry, my bad!
Anonymous, 23 Mar 2020That means it outperforms the 765G and Dimensity 1000 which are its direct competitors.Only outperforms the SD 765.
It matches with Dimensity 1000L not the vanilla 1000
Mid range processor which i prefer over Exynos 990......

(Although you are "lucky" because the Kirin 990 also falls behind the SD865, so main part of your comment is true, just it is miss placed here)
Anonymous, 23 Mar 2020Only in single core. Sd765 wasn't able to beat a 2 year old flagship (sd845) when it was launc... moreSD765 was launched last year so technically it matched single core performance of a 1 year old SD845, Not 2 year old chipset.
Don't be surprised if the SD775 Launching this year will outperform the SD855 in Single core as well.
Flgshp2020, 23 Mar 2020When SD855 was launched, the SD765 (Mid range chip) gave single core performance similar to SD... moreMan no they not catching up. SD84 is 2 years old where SD765 is one year old.
So when SD765 beats SD845 is not big win compared to Kirin 820 which beats SD855.
Understood???
oPaGanDasTyle, 23 Mar 2020YEah, outperform the 855, not the 865 thats whats count the most so...Huawei still behind the ... moreMan this is a midranger chip not flagship one and if midrange chip beats flagship CPU from last year its definitely a huge success.

That means it outperforms the 765G and Dimensity 1000 which are its direct competitors.
Anonymous, 23 Mar 2020Kirin 820 is a mid-range soc Not the flagship oneWhen SD855 was launched, the SD765 (Mid range chip) gave single core performance similar to SD845. So Huawei isn't doing any better. They are simply catching up.

Not the flagship one
YEah, outperform the 855, not the 865 thats whats count the most so...Huawei still behind the competition anyway.
even, they dont outperform SD855+, wich is at least the thig to beat...LOL
Benchmarks aren't much to go on especially at this stage. Let's get some real world performance and see first. If it's accurate it's definitely promising for the midrangers.
