Obviously CPU performance goes to Kirin 980, but graphics wise, they are mostly even. Well, the true competitor of that Kirin is the Snapdragon 855, and that one completely blows it out of the water.
Kirin 990 is more of a competitor to Snapdragon 855 Plus, as the Kirin competitor for Snapdragon 865 is yet to be announced.
Mediateksux, 24 Mar 2020Gms doesnt 'bog down' the soc like you think. Try a custom rom without gapps and you will see. https://m.gsmarena.com/huawei_p40_lite-review-2084p3.php
What else can be the reason for a 4200mAh battery on a normal smartphone to give off a 121h endurance rating?
Samsung's 5000mAh battery can't even go beyond 90h, let alone reach 100h mark.
Obviously because there's no GMS running in the background constantly, Huawei could get the battery to be less hogged by software as much as they could, which brought these crunching numbers.
The 765G has dual A76 cores compared to the Kirin 820 with quad A76 cores. Obviously the 820 would fare better. This chip should rival the 855 instead.

Looks like I was right to doubt the previous leak that "it's better than SD855".
What happened to G77 GPU? Anyways this SoC is a beast
Early snapdragon 765 phones are way expensive than their kirin counterpart. Only google mobile services can save them now.

That's good and all, but Kirin 810, not 820, is the direct rival of the SD765G. But honestly, I don't trust AnTuTu scores. As far as Geekbench is concerned, both K810 and SD765G are pretty much tied.
The score will further increase as they optimise it better
its Rival of SD855
of course compeletly beat SD765G, Exynos980
Kirin 810 in speed test was beat SD845
Not gonna be hard to have 120Hz on this phone, especially without GMS bogging down the SoC.
Perhaps this could match up to the performance of Apple A12 Bionic if the same level of software and hardware optimizations are done.
Not a Huawei fan, but I'd trust them more than Samsung to beat Qualcomm in the game, and truly put a great pressure on them to work even better than they can.
First mid-range chip with 4 big cores?
travstr, 24 Mar 2020crazy how a midrange chip is as good as a year old flagship chip! and it has 5G!Year old flagship? It couldn't go past Kirin 980.
