Definitely hoping to see the Mate 30 Pro photo quality with the new P40 phones. The level of work Huawei did to finally eliminate that horrendous waterpainting-like oversharpening effect like in older P or Mate phones made the Mate 30 Pro my absolute favourite smartphone of 2019.
As for the lack of Google Mobile Services? Well I'm going deGoogled now, so that didn't bother me at all.

And while being 2 times cheaper, it will have similar camera quality, better processor speed with bigger screen and better battery life.

no 120hz => Don't think the lack of 120hz has caused any of the few billion existing phone users to suffer any issues for the past 15 years.
no 5G u.s.a => But... USA only has shitty 5G that doesn't work more than 50m of the base station. in selected cities. and only in selected areas.
When the coverage is better in the second half of the year, you would have gotten another phone already, wouldn't you? Nowadays no one uses their phones more than 1 year anyway.
no headphone jack => Agreed. Shit phone for having no headphone jack.
oval pill size front camera => Agreed. Ugly as shit.
curve screen => I've used every Samsung iteration since S6, never had an issue.
For $1XXX+++ => Pricing is relative. I think MANY people would find this price pretty acceptable for a phone. But for a phone so ugly, I don't think it's worth it.
With a 2k budget for 2020, I can't think of any phone I'd like to change to at the moment. This one with its photography chops seems pretty good enough.

However, I'm hoping either Razer makes a comeback (hey, at least GCam is available for both their phones) or HTC's 5G Flagship that's rumored for this year actually becomes the phone we want. Considering how desperate HTC is on getting back in track with their new CEO, perhaps this will be the year that they shine.

I guarantee you the XDA community or most fans could come up with a better smartphone. These brands nowadays don't listen to the community. They TELL you what's trendy and you're supposed to fall for it. Unfortunately, most of the usual users are blindly loyal to a brand just because of the brand name and not for the product they pump.
OnePlus used to be great but then they decided to copy the very brands they insulted. Only hope now is HTC's 5G Flagship that's rumored to be released this year.
