[deleted post]In the same way, Samsung could've just used all Samsung sensors for their flagships if they really believe that their in-house semicons are superior to what Sony offers.
Turns out they can't deliver the same level of quality, so they still depend on them to provide great camera sensors to make up for their incapacity to match their rival's offerings.

"1200 euros is very expensive"
Exactly why Sony gives a 4K HDR 21:9 OLED screen with native 120Hz refresh rate (90Hz with Motion Blur Reduction officially) and retains the good old 3.5mm jack.

What does your 1400 euros Samsung give you? A chunky camera bump that focuses slower than Apple adapting USB C to iPhones?? A large battery for an endurance of a potato?
Oh great! Quality 100.

Anonymous, 26 Mar 2020Good phone but very bad price.$1300 Sony phone gives you a headphone jack and 4K HDR 21:9 OLED screen with 90Hz Motion Blur Reduction.
What does $1500 Samsung or Apple phone gives you?
Turtle slow camera focusing? Chunky screen cutout? Large battery with mediocre endurance? No real multitasking capabilities? What?

[deleted post]Same goes for your talks about Sony Mobile shutting down in the next 5 years back in 2015 and look what they're doing now.
Now if we just keep shut and let these manufacturers do their job and mind our own businesses, then things would be better and perhaps even help progress the pacing of our current technology.

[deleted post]I have tons of xperia phones. I can always take great photos from the its camera. It's just a matter of how you will use it. Sales is a failure, I agree, but the phone is not. Performance, speed, screen, battery is optimized.

I haven't heard about a single Xperia phone from 5 years ago being complained about to have significantly degraded battery and could no longer hold a charge. Meanwhile, I can see lots of reports from Chinese phones from just 3 years ago that their batteries have either swollen up or can no longer make it through the afternoon after being fully charged in the morning.

Or maybe they had an agreement with Samsung that we may never know.

[deleted post]Again, you're being ignorant. You basically ignored my valid points in my comment. I used to be like you, judging Sony Xperia and all. But, this phone seems promising, and I can't wait for the reviews to come out. We get it, we know you're hating on Xperia.

Sony has stopped selling phones in so many countries.
On top of that, they sell at exorbitant prices, where other flagships seem like a better value for money and the same is reflected in their sales.

Sony is really putting the focus on the cameras on this one. Majority of the conference about this phone was the cameras. Plus, this is the first phone that Xperia team and Alpha are working together since they got merged last year. Also, all the camera sensors on this phone are much bigger than Sony Xperia 1. It may not be the best of the class, I'm sure it's gonna be a major improvement from the previous gen.
