Because it has Zeiss T lens and other top notch hardware. So the price is high but worth it
The Last Oracle, 26 Mar 2020When Sony starts using Samsung Image Sensors, you know Samsung has really got their quality an... moreIt is because Exmor sensors are in such high demand that they have to choose to use Samsung's
Samsung's sensores are cheaper too but inferior to Exmor.
[deleted post]In the same way, Samsung could've just used all Samsung sensors for their flagships if they really believe that their in-house semicons are superior to what Sony offers.
Turns out they can't deliver the same level of quality, so they still depend on them to provide great camera sensors to make up for their incapacity to match their rival's offerings.
"1200 euros is very expensive"
Exactly why Sony gives a 4K HDR 21:9 OLED screen with native 120Hz refresh rate (90Hz with Motion Blur Reduction officially) and retains the good old 3.5mm jack.
What does your 1400 euros Samsung give you? A chunky camera bump that focuses slower than Apple adapting USB C to iPhones?? A large battery for an endurance of a potato?
Oh great! Quality 100.
Anonymous, 26 Mar 2020Good phone but very bad price.$1300 Sony phone gives you a headphone jack and 4K HDR 21:9 OLED screen with 90Hz Motion Blur Reduction.
What does $1500 Samsung or Apple phone gives you?
Turtle slow camera focusing? Chunky screen cutout? Large battery with mediocre endurance? No real multitasking capabilities? What?
[deleted post]Same goes for your talks about Sony Mobile shutting down in the next 5 years back in 2015 and look what they're doing now.
Now if we just keep shut and let these manufacturers do their job and mind our own businesses, then things would be better and perhaps even help progress the pacing of our current technology.
[deleted post]I have tons of xperia phones. I can always take great photos from the its camera. It's just a matter of how you will use it. Sales is a failure, I agree, but the phone is not. Performance, speed, screen, battery is optimized.
Very creative joke.
Should I laugh now?
Anonymous, 26 Mar 2020i know it will have bad camera score again. as usual. It's 2020 already and you still base your conclusions on paid sites for high numbers? Poor you :(((

Anonymous, 26 Mar 2020While it takes 2hrs to completely charge the phone. Sony using 3yr old fast charging technolog... moreThat 3 year old fast charging technology gives off more than 3 years worth of battery capacity as well.
I haven't heard about a single Xperia phone from 5 years ago being complained about to have significantly degraded battery and could no longer hold a charge. Meanwhile, I can see lots of reports from Chinese phones from just 3 years ago that their batteries have either swollen up or can no longer make it through the afternoon after being fully charged in the morning.
Anonymous, 26 Mar 2020Well, I dont think each device would cost $10 or $15 more if it had only exmor.
But I unders... morePerhaps they just don't have any sensor that matches those specs as the Samsung sensors.
Or maybe they had an agreement with Samsung that we may never know.

[deleted post]Again, you're being ignorant. You basically ignored my valid points in my comment. I used to be like you, judging Sony Xperia and all. But, this phone seems promising, and I can't wait for the reviews to come out. We get it, we know you're hating on Xperia.
kmcmurtrie, 26 Mar 2020Give it LTE and NR band 71 and I'll buy it. As it is now, there are no usable 5G bands for Nor... moreAs another sir who lives in the US, the Xperia Pro is supposed to have the mmWave 5G bands the original 1 mark 2 is missing. Don't know if band 71 in general is going to be there but I think the US is only getting the Xperia Pro.
Anonymous, 25 Mar 2020I'm an android fanboy but why no one use NVME storage like iPhone. It will be even faster.Because NVME is already on Chromebook devices?
Anonymous, 26 Mar 2020well.. every year is the same story.
So many hype during the release date, and then bad dxo s... moreForget DxOMark scores. Will the device even get worldwide availability?
Sony has stopped selling phones in so many countries.
On top of that, they sell at exorbitant prices, where other flagships seem like a better value for money and the same is reflected in their sales.
Anonymous, 26 Mar 2020well.. every year is the same story. So many hype during the release date, and then bad dxo s... moreWell, this isn't last year or the previous years. Sony is really putting the focus on the cameras on this one. Majority of the conference about this phone was the cameras. Plus, this is the first phone that Xperia team and Alpha are working together since they got merged last year. Also, all the camera sensors on this phone are much bigger than Sony Xperia 1. It may not be the best of the class, I'm sure it's gonna be a major improvement from the previous gen.
