Imagine the guys at Huawei planning this.

Manager dude: "Ok guys we need a good display for our next phone, any ideas?"

Employee A: "How about a high refresh rate, high res display, but not too high res so it doesn't unnecessarily use too much battery, with great colors and everything"

Manager dude: "Alright alright I dig it."

Employee B: "Hurrr durrr lets put massive hole in display"

    Manager dude: "BRILLIANT!"

Ugliest punch hole I've ever seen. Lets cramp all sensors into the punch hole and make it bigger, that would make sense. Said no one but Huawei!

It looks like Samsung have certainly mastered the "smaller" cutout through the panels for the camera, the cutout on the new P40 range is simply too chunky.
