wasox, 27 Mar 2020How Short sighted you are, the whole affair is about huawei's telecom, not phones, read and... moreI think you're missing the point. Huawei is being used as leverage by Trump in his stupid trade war with China. This is no evidence whatsoever that Huawei networking equipment is being used for spying by the Chinese government. Saner countries like Britain and Germany have agreed tha
USA , in 2 month from now, you will lift all the ban for Huawei and you will bag for mercy, money and some food to the chinese president. Mark my words !!!
Good. The Americans at least have the guts and the strength to stand up to China's attempts to use its "private" technology companies to expand its political and military footprint. China has been successful in Africa and in other developing nations, but Huawei's 5G technology is its Trojan Horse in Europe and beyond.
Note7 owner, 27 Mar 2020Huawei doesn't need the USA, there are many many more countries out there to do business with. Just russia, which is very big, other countries need to choose a side, which I doubt will be china's side
SpiritWolf, 28 Mar 2020Brainwashed much, yes? By Chinese law ALL companies must share data if needed. Just like in US... moreWe are talking about non chinese citizens.
AnonD-908380, 27 Mar 2020It should be evidence enough that they all have roots in the CCP and are required by Chinese l... moreBrainwashed much, yes? By Chinese law ALL companies must share data if needed. Just like in US. Huawei isn't different in any means.
saddameu, 27 Mar 2020they failed to provide 1 single solid proof about this yet they try to put them down.
Is so p... moreThey don't need a prove nothing.
They know what are they doing, so they know that others can do it to.
That's the reason they have decided to try to stop it.
Unfortunately for US, other alias decided not to follow them, since they all know that if they use US made equipment, they will be spying 100% in whole world...and there is no proof that China will do the same.
So, USA have every right to protect itself...but doing this to one company and in same time selling an idea of freedom and fair trade, just makes me want buy Huawei's products.
Unfortunately, I don't see value in P40pro, so I need to wait to see what Honor will offer.
Ex apple user , 27 Mar 2020US is going at it on wrong direction this time,I think they should put all their focus on get... moreFrom bottom of my heart I agree, the rest, nonsense things can definitely wait
they failed to provide 1 single solid proof about this yet they try to put them down.
Is so pathetic . And what's more funny is that USA spies the whole world but they want to be the only one.
This is awesome Huawei is a big lesson to many of us. Sometimes people may want to slow you down but you have to show them how it might be to live without them.
44alexsmith, 27 Mar 2020Unfortunately, spying by the Chinese government has always been an ongoing problem for America... moreThat is like ask Apple, Google, etc. To not share all they spy with Trump, USA government, etc... Or you are as ignorant to not know that their hardware and software have backdoors to the USA government? Like the well known Cisco backdoors for the NSA.
They also must protect themselves from USA backdoors. Or you believe that USA has the supreme right above the world to spy all them without counters and without consequences?
1. As I see it, spying by the US government has always been an ongoing problem for the world for decades.
2. Plenty other good brands? On midrange level, in Europe:
Samsung - overpriced, inferior cpu (A51), signal strengh is much worse on weaker connections than other brands (f. e. my 3 year old p9 lite has 3 sticks when my brother's s10+ has 1 where we live)
Oneplus - nothing yet
Apple - way way way ... overpriced
LG, Sony, HTC - overpriced, outdated hardware, no support, they are basically dead. They know it, costumers know it, press know it, the boards know it just forgot to send out the press releases.
Xiaomi - great hardware for good price (until now) but MIUI is piece of sh.. EU rom, Global Rom, something works here, something there, if 5 things don't work, next update will solve 2 but create 3 new bugs. And so on...
What doesn't kill you will make you stronger. Huawei will start making the chip making machines themselves no longer needing to purchase them from the US, Holland or elsewhere in the West.
Huawei doesn't need the USA, there are many many more countries out there to do business with.
Trump will send every chupacabra at Huawei, but all in vain, see ya next P50 Pro year DC No-bark.
Obviously this kind of moves just for sake of apple and Google and samsung companies benefits.
US is going at it on wrong direction this time,I think they should put all their focus on getting the covid 19 infection under control. Deal with what's more important first.
wasox, 27 Mar 2020How Short sighted you are, the whole affair is about huawei's telecom, not phones, read and... moreBut do you think that is the real reason? You are just blind.
In the article, where it says that the US may be hurt quite badly for it incase of retaliation by Xi Jingping dissallowing manuacturing of some product made in China that go to america, namely Apple iPhone Products which sells phones in china and also has its handsets and many other devices manufactered there, I can see why the US governement may not follow through with this plan?
Not to mention Huawei already have been quite good at pushing back against the USA and its inability to use GMS.
The Huawei AppGallery already has many apps which are substitutes for Google's own apps, however those who heavily involve Gmail, Facebook & YouTube apps may not find this so easy to swallow!
